UVA CNL Program 2016

Hello, All!

I figured I would start a new thread for people applying to the UVA CNL Program for 2016. I have to admit I'm pretty nervous about applying, and I really hope it all works out. I'm graduating from Virginia Tech this May with a degree in Psychology. I haven't completed all of my pre-reqs yet, but my gpa is decent, and I'm a nationally certified EMT. I'm nearly done with my application, but a little nervous that my references won't submit their letters in time :/ let me know how your process is going!

Decisions are up!! I got in!!! Anyone else?

Congrats to everyone! I was offered a waitlist position but I don't know if I'll take it; I have to weigh pros-cons since I've gotten into other ABSN programs!

I got in guys! I hope you all got the good news too! My heart is racing still!

Congrats you two! I am on the waitlist as well!

I got in too!! Wait list is also wonderful so congrats to us all!

I did not get in unfortunately. Good luck to you all! Maybe next time.

I am on waiting list, I am not sure what to decide. They need my response in 15 days. Is there anyone who had a chance after being on waiting list? Congrats for all of you who have been admitted. You guys keep an updates. Happy Holidays !!

I'M IN!!!!!

I think I read on this thread that a handful get taken off the list every year depending on how many decline their spots. If it's your first choice, then definitely take the spot! It can't hurt to put your name down!

Congrats to everyone who got in!

To those that got in and don't mind, do you mind sharing some of your stats so others can compare from the present and the future?

ie., Where did you go to Undergrad? What did you major in? What was your GPA range? Did you take the GRE? What healthcare experience did you have? Did you take some, all, or none of your prereqs at a community college or as an undergrad? Where do you live now? Did you apply to other schools?

Secondly, did everyone who got in received an email from SIS this evening?

Lastly, do you plan to accept or are you waiting for another school?

i do not have a link that appeared on my application page. is anyone else having the same problem? Pretty bummed since everyone is out of the office until January 4th/5th

Congrats to everyone who got good news! I mentioned before, but since someone asked: I know we have at least two people in our current program who were on the wait list, so if you ended up there, don't give up hope!

And to anyone who didn't get good news: I know of a handful of folks who didn't get in their first time around or who didn't get into their first choice but ended up extremely happy in another program, so try and keep that in the back of your mind. It sucks that they can't accept more folks in each class, so sometimes it's just how the cards fall. Having the stats to be considered a legitimate candidate in the first place pretty much guarantees you success soon no matter where you land.

To the incoming class: I highly recommend one of you start a Facebook group. (You can make it a closed group.) It's a great way to share information and get to know each other. You'll have a TON of questions going forward, and it beats trading a thousand e-mails. We even had a few second-year students in the program volunteer to join our group who answered lots of our questions about everything from textbooks, where to live and park, what to expect, etc.

Hope this makes your holidays wonderful. Glad the waiting is over for you. Get ready for a crazy ride!
