  1. I started my CNL program this past May and aced health assessment and patho. I started OB in July and figured my previous study methods would work. Boy, was I wrong. I underestimated how fast-paced my program is. The OB lecture portion was 2 weeks long with clinical the next 2 weeks. The exam grades for the lecture portion have to average an 80 to move to clinical, and unfortunately, I got a 78. This is why I failed OB and pushed back a year since each clinical is a prerequisite for the next clinical. There were so many factors on why I failed: the speed/rigor of the course, moving into my new apartment, and thinking I was at a good point in my life that I stopped taking my anti-depressants for depression/anxiety. The blame is all on my shoulders, and it has taken me a while to pick up the pieces. Fast forward to the present, I've just finished my 2nd semester of nursing school, acing my courses in pharm, advanced patho, and leadership. I feel like I have a better grasp on nursing science and most importantly--in a dark ironic twist--drug adherence. I've been trying to absorb as much as I can to be the best nurse I can be. As I prepare to take OB again next summer, I was wondering if anyone had study tips for tackling OB?
  2. I got in guys! I hope you all got the good news too! My heart is racing still!
  3. What a roller coaster of emotions haha. Wishing all of us the best!
  4. I feel the same...less than a week left!
  5. I'm glad I found this thread! My interview is set up for this upcoming Tuesday. I'm nervous and excited at the same time! Best of luck to all of us!
  6. Hey, I'm Ren! Pleasure to meet you! Congrats on getting in as well! I'm excited to get back into school and finally do what I'm meant to do!
  7. I really enjoyed this post. When I volunteered at a mental health daycare, I was a bit intimidated at first. Once I got to know a couple of them through occupational and recreational activities, it was a gratifying experience. I had a really deep conversation with one of my charges. Like the post says, the key is to break down the barriers that divide us into classifications by understanding one another; we are all humans with our own quirks.
  8. Hello, I'm practically in the same dilemma as you. I'm also a graduate from UVA with a BA history! I recently figured out that nursing is my calling, and I'm trying to figure out what is the best option for me to get my BSN. Albeit, I'm mostly looking at accelerated programs. Good luck to the both of us on our endeavors!
  9. I'm glad I found this thread because I'm trying to figure out if Sentara is the best way to receive my second bachelor's. Being able to further my education is a steadfast requirement for me. I've only messaged two schools about graduate admissions, and VCU responded positively. UVA on the other hand gave me an unclear answer: "We accept Bachelors credits as long as they are from a Nationally Accredited Institution." I'm not sure about this answer because I read a comment on here that said it only accepts students from regionally accredited colleges, so I'm a bit confused.
