We have at least two, if not, three people in our current class (2018) that commute from Richmond, VA to UVA. While doable, you have to account that it will eat up valuable time to study, do homework, and such because you are commuting back and forward for those two days during the Fall and Spring. (Don't forget the "rush hour" traffic to leave Cville and get into NOVA (and vice versa) during these times might make the commute longer than 2hrs). Also, as 21277 stated, during the summer, it can be pretty exhausting. You may have to commute up to five days a week. For example-- L&D (the second half of 1st Summer) was five days in a row for two weeks straight before we eased into clinicals. So, a summer sublet might be in order. Lastly, by commuting, you lose the opportunity to bond and hang out with your cohort depending how engaging you are in class, over Facebook, and such.
