UTA FALL 2012

Hey all, I thought I would set up a place to discuss the next application period for UTA's Fall 2012 nursing program. There was so much info in the Spring 2012 forum, thought it might be helpful to start a new thread...

They are extra points for considerations, like an extra boost to your application. You can have up to 3 I think-30 or more hours at UTA-9 hrs of sciences at UTA-honors college at UTASo basically, I have a 3.0 science gpa with 2 considerations. Its better than a 3.25 science gpa with 1 consideration....or so I was told.

Anyone get any update about the application process from UTA?

Nope, not a word and we probably won't hear much from them till April :(

Well great! I have no considerations! I will have 30+ hours at UTA after this semester. So I suppose if I don't get in this time aroundI will atleast have one consideration for next application period!

So, I was feeling cautiously optimistic about my chances, and then...I get an email from my advisor stating I don't have 12 hours of science prereqs apply again later. I do! Of course I am unable to get anybody in the nursing department to call or email me. I decided to call admissions and make sure my recent transcripts are received. I mailed them in November. They said they were there but hadn't been logged in. They told me they would log them in the next day or two.

An hour later I got a call stating that since I hadn't taken any classes since I applied to UTA in 2010 that my file is no longer current and I need to apply again. Pay the $50 bucks. I am so frustrated. I was afraid something like this would happen. That is why I had official sealed transcripts mailed to me and then mailed them directly to UTA myself registered mail. To be safe I included copies of my transcripts with the nursing application so they could see I have now complete all my prereqs. I did apply again, but am losing hope that this will work itself out.

Has anyone else run into something like this?? I am so bummed out :(

When did you get the email stating you are missing 12 hours of science prereqs? I submitted my transcript (I'm a transfer) around the first week of December 2011. And I think my grades were in the system in the end of January (posted on mymav). I didnt get any email like yours from them.

Thursday. How long ago did you apply for the pre-nursing? They said that was my problem. I did not take any of the prereqs at UTA. They said the application is only good for one year. I had no idea! The admissions office did not know how this would effect my nursing application. My old grades were there, but not the prereqs I had been knocking out the last year and a half.

You mean thursday last week (02/16/12)??

I had the same issue. I mailed my transcripts the first of December but I went on got another copy and hand delivered in jan 4th. The office of admissions had never received my December transcript. Thank god I hand delivered it and got confirmation that they entered them the same day.

I am crossing my fingers they will still consider me. I had problems when I first applied. That is why I sent them registered mail. I even called to confirm they were received. They never mentioned any problems.

Yes, 2/16. I guess that means they are starting to work through them. Hope nobody else has any issues.

Has anyone ever showed up in person? Did you have any luck talking to an advisor?

I hope things will work out for you!I talked to my advisor in person before applying. If you have not met any, you should if you live near uta.

I was finally able to speak with someone from the nursing program today. They said they will still consider me for the fall. Pshew! I read on the website that they don't do in person advising for the online program. I may still take a chance and drive over if they don't get my transcripts evaluated soon. Good luck everyone. Looks like we've got quite a wait ahead of us!
