Dec 4, 201213 yr Is anyone else applying to the compressed nursing program at University of Toronto this year for entrance in September 2013? I want to start a thread so we can see when people get accepted and what their grades are like. Good luck to everyone!
Apr 6, 201313 yr Hello,Does anyone have an idea of how much OSAP would offer for tuition and living expenses in Toronto? Thank you :)
Apr 6, 201313 yr I also received an offer of admission (which I accepted) on March 26, and mine was conditional on completing a humanities course. Good luck to everyone!
Apr 7, 201313 yr Hey there, I received my acceptance to UofT via email on April 2nd! It's also posted on my Join UofT account; however, I am still waiting on my letter offer in the mail. Not sure yet when my acceptance deadline is, but I think UofT will be my first choice.I was also accepted to the AST nursing program at Queen's and the Second Entry nursing program at uOttawa. The University of Ottawa program starts (and finishes) sooner, but I think the program and the clinical experiences offered in Toronto will make me a stronger nurse. I've tried (unsuccessfully) to find a ranking of Canadian nursing schools, but UofT is ranked higher than both Queens and uOttawa in the Medical school ratings by Macleans. I guess that should be a decent indicator of training for the health professions in general...
Apr 7, 201313 yr Oh, and I'm not too sure what my GPA would be since I have a BA Honours, with a minor in Biology (started as a BIOL major), as well as an MA. I've also since taken a few prerequisites from other universities, so it's a bit difficult to calculate! I've gotten an A+ in statistics, A+ in anatomy/physiology, and A- to A+ in other pre-reqs.Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!
Apr 8, 201313 yr I read on one forum that 176 students are getting accepted this year. I think she said she heard that from the open house last year
Apr 9, 201313 yr I read on one forum that 176 students are getting accepted this year. I think she said she heard that from the open house last yearThanks! Wow, that's a huge class compared to the 24 English speaking students accepted to uOttawa. But it makes sense considering UofT only offers the compressed BScN program.
Apr 9, 201313 yr Has anyone accepted the offer on OUAC yet? I accepted mine but it never prompted me to pay the $500 dollar deposit. Now I can't log back in to OUAC for one day.
Apr 9, 201313 yr I accepted mine and got a letter in the mail a few days letter. The letter gives instructions on how to pay the deposit. The only bad thing is that the money has to be in by a certain day, or your offer is revoked. I just sent mine by courier today so it would be in on time!
Apr 10, 201313 yr Is anyone else on this forum an international applicant? Does anyone know if offers to this type of student are made around the same time, or later? (I'm from the US). I was hoping to be a strong candidate (BA and MA, 3.8-9 GPA, A's and A-'s pre-req scores, lots of int'l work exp, hospital volunteering, advocacy work in India, Afghanistan, Egypt, etc), but haven't heard a peep yet.. Starting to get really nervous.. I've also applied to York's second entry program, and no word from them either. Good luck everyone, and congrats to those who have made it in already!
Apr 11, 201313 yr I got accepted :)! Kind of surprised it came this early, my GPA is not as stellar as everyone else here (one course really messed it up). I've been volunteering for the past two years or so in different settings and had great references and essays, so maybe that did it! Question: the two weeks I have to accept the offer includes the 500$ mark for the deposit to OUAC, does it not? Or can I accept and then revoke it later... I'm still waiting on other schools (like Western )
