hi there robocop!!! sorry i cant PM u... i dont know why i cant send priv8 messages.. how to activate it? anyways,,, i am just not sure whether they accept Ivt attendance and IVT completion form only... but since u'll be getting ur IVT card this april i think they still accept u bcos the training will start on may or june,,, or,,, better for u to just call them first before u go there,,, just ask PLDT fone directory..or just go there once u get your IVT card....

why not try another line of work like call center, I know that everyone here love nursing and really want to gain some experience in nursing but somehow along the way you need to realize that you need money to feed yourself and support yourself . processing of hospital application in Philippines will take a long time, you can 1st submit your application in hospital where you want to work ( as if you have a choice). or take your basic life support and IV training before applying to hospital because its a requirement to most of the hospitals then apply in any field of work such call center to have a money to support yourself. Its better being productive than unproductive at home , waiting for the hospital to call. Most(or some) of the Nursing graduate are unemployed and at home waiting for the hospital to call without even realizing that it will take them 1 year of waiting because there is no demand.

If you want, you can volunteer first because i understand the feeling of a new RN. New RN want to experience how to work in hospital without the assistant of Clinical Instructor like in college.

What i want to say is you can wait for the hospital call while being productive.

Im also a license nurse in Philippines and Vermont , Im still here because of the retrogression. Im now working in call center because I want to be productive and want to be independent. What i did , I applied 1st in hospitals in manila before going in call center so when there's opening i can work to hospital.

You need 15 posts to be able to send and reply to pm's. We do ask that posts are meaningful and useful to the site and if it is felt you have posted just to boost post count they will be deleted.

We also ask that next and abbreviations are not used. Good practise on writing clear concise English

Hello everyone! I know how everybody feels and I keep my faith up and never discourage.

Im also an umployed nurse graduated April 2007. I pass my NLE December 2007.

And I gave birth on the same year. Now Im taking care of my 18 month old daughter.

In November 2008, I took a proficiency exam for RT. And now am also a Certified Respiratory Therapist to gain an extra edge.

But I never really tried applying for a job in any hospital. For many reason such as I am taking time to take care of my daughter. And to watch her grow until I have to get a full time job to support her.

So now applied at CNO (College of Nurses in Ontario) for an PN eligibility. I hope to get an eligibility. But from their strict requirement , I might have to settle to a bridging to meet their standard of safe nursing practice.

To Johnbrew: I followed all your comments to forums: Good luck to your job hunt, hope you get a good break!

Good Luck to all nurses!!! Never give up, keep the dream alive ^_-

Why apply for PN when you have RN? Why not just let the province assess your training?

i thought if youre already an immigrant and an NCLEX passer hospitals will hire you right away...

to NURSE PUKYAW,,, sorry i can't still send private messages... i think they ask u to come back maybe it's because that would be the start of training since they already ask u to come in all white uniform... I'll be sending my requirements in Tondo medical center later... Good luck to us!

Can still be hard to find a hospital especially if you have no US experience. Ca also has a very high unemployment rate at the moment

Have you tried applying on nursing and retirements homes?

Hello batchmate! hehehe...

I'm from Davao City, and same goes to a lot of my batchmates here. Many are unemplyed. Our fates lie in trainings, seminars and more TRAININGS! most of the hospitals here require you to train before they accept you as a staff, thast is IF there's a job vacancy in any area.

So far, after graduating and taking the NLE last December 2007. I became a tambay until the results came out on February 2008. I didn't really become active in applying in hospitals, not realizing how serious it is not to at that time. I was simply attending seminars until April when I trained as an IV therapist. I still didn't pass my resume to any hospitals aside from one public hospital which offered a training in the area of your choice. Of course, you had to pay for that experience. I chose the Emergency Room. Luckily, i passed their exam and was able to train there for 5 months. During the course of my training, i still didn't pass a single resume to any hospital, thinking that my credentials were not that satisfactory yet since I was a fresh RN. I had to finish the 5 months for me to feel confident that I AM qualified to be a of their staff. Big mistake for me!

I should've al least passed my resumes in some hospitals during those times because some of my batchmates already passed their even with no experiences at all. And now, a couple has been accepted in a hospital that has newly opened. it kinda sucks. But I guess that wasn't meant to be.

Anyway, after graduating in my 5 month training in the ER, I submitted my resume to some hospitals here in DC. Sadly, no respond. So I again trained in another hospital for a month last feb-march. Now, I am waiting for updates. I'm following up if there are any vacancies in any of the ward or area in that hospital. Hopefully, there will be. Starting up as a reliever, then a proby then a regular. that would be so cool! I'm keeping my fingers crossed and prayng to God that I will be accepted. ^__^
