Hi all
I just wonder when nurses actually get time to read the patient's history because beds and pt care aren't usually given until handover and also is it possible to chart during the quiter times in the day or is it always done towards the end of shift? Sometimes everything seems like a wild scramble.
Thanks:monkeydance:
I guess I won't need to know. I didn't get into the grad program and I am absolutely devastated. I don't think I'll even come back to all nurses. Here I was thinking I had a chance and trying to learn everything. What's the uses? I really thought with so few nurses in this area graduating last year I'd have a chance.
Bye

Hi Hassled,
I'm sorry to hear you didn't get into the grad programme. Can you apply to the hospitals direct? Are you in regional queensland or Brisbane?
Regional. I know there are probably lots of grads applying from other areas, and maybe it is just how things work out. perhaps I will get a second round offer. but thanks anyway.

I'm sorry hassled. Keep your options open. Something will come up.
Keep the faith~
Regional. I know there are probably fewer places than there are grads especially if grads come from other areas. I keep telling myself I might get a second place offer but I just feel like no one wants me because I am older. Maybe I'll try another hospital in the area but I really wanted this hospital.
Hi Hassled, I am a mature age graduate nurse...I know it is disappointing not the get the hospital you wanted, but if you can get into one in your area, it is a start. Have you thought about going agency while you wait....I live in Brisbane and I know there is plenty of work here for Grads. But I have heard from others that some regional areas are harder to find work.
Hi ladybird. I don't want to disclose area as there are things going on in my life which would be known to certain people in the health industry. Nothing bad, just certain events happening. I mean I have been a good girl, but someone might recognise me. I will just say regional for now thanks.
Well hang in there and keep trying.
