Two questions...

Wow, I can't believe that when I joined this forum I had just decided to go back to school, and now, here I am 3 months away from graduating!

So, just wondering...How long did you wait to take NCLEX after graduating and how long did it take you to find a job?

I took the PN boards about 2 months after graduating, but I started working as a graduate nurse in a jail a few days after graduating. this was in 2010.

Older than dirt here :roflmao:

Grad in May of 83, took my boards in early July (worked as a GN till the results came back in late August) and been a workin' ever since.....

my butt is tired! :nurse:

I graduated almost 3 years ago. I had a job before I wrote my exam, through a friend I made here on AN. The market was terrible, and I decided to relocate, which was the best decision I could have made. Most of my friends have jobs, but those who were picky took up to a year to find them.

I had a job a month before I graduated, and I took NCLEX less than 4 weeks after graduation.

I started applying for jobs in October 2011, received a couple of conditional job offers right before I graduated in December 2011, took NCLEX as soon as I could (about 2 weeks), started my job in January 2012.

Graduated end of December 2011 and took NCLEX the end of January, which was the first available date. I started my first nursing job February 1st.

I took the NCLEX two weeks after graduating and got a job five weeks later.

Take NCLEX as quickly as possible after graduation.

I was hired 3 months before I graduated for my first RN position. I graduated in December of 2011. Started my internship the last week of January 2012.

I took the NCLEX about a month after graduation. I wanted my studying and school knowledge of nursing to be fresh. I started working in early September of the same year.

I took my NCLEX 3 weeks after graduation and I got a nursing job 6 months after finishing school.

Accepted an internship position in April, graduated in May, started my internship in June, took NCLEX in July. Don't wait!

Graduated in May. Took NCLEX and became licensed in July. Started working in September.

Good Luck!
