Just had one come in with mouth sores. She called mom and said she was going home, can't concentrate for class. So glad I have criteria for dismissal, parents come to pick them up anyway.:banghead:

C.Mack- I love days like this! I have really been missing all of you! Beginning of year stuff is getting in the way of me being able to hang out here!!

Cell phones are literally the bane of my existence. My favorite line is when they walk into my office "I'm sick so I've already texted my mom. She told me to just wait in here until she comes to get me" :sarcastic:

SAME. HERE. Today is just one of those "But I don't wanna...." days!!! I intend to take full advantage of my lack of motivation and just enjoy a laid back day. I'll get back at it on Monday!

THIS!!! I have this happen 2-3x per day. Then I get to go into my "They are not being released through the clinic, so the absence will be unexcused"

I have already Marked my school desk calendar with all the Off Days (Sat, Sun) and Holidays for year! I need to see M-O-T-I-V-A-T-I-O-N and perks.

Ha. I love that. I tell them to wait in the office and I won't excuse the absence, parent is responsible for clearing it. You don't want any nursing care, I didn't speak to your parent, and I'm not sending you home. I can't verify if you're sick enough to leave and I can't verify that your parent is really coming to get you.

THIS! Just today, had a kid walk into the office, hand me his cell phone, and says "here, my mom wants to talk to you" !!?? And then Mom proceeds to ask " he wants to go home, is he sick?" HOW THE BLAZES AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW - HE JUST WALKED IN!! :banghead:

Ug! The cell phones. I get a call from our secretary telling me a parent is here to pick up a kid that I haven't seen that day. For my school it gets coded as an unexcused absence if it didn't go through my office.

Unfortunately, today is my Thursday... I am working tomorrow at my PRN job. Not looking forward to it. I'd much rather sleep in.
