today..not only is it my 2nd year anniversary w/ my boyfriend.. but I also found out through quick results that I PASSED MY NCLEX!!!!:yeah: I can not believe it! I'm officially an RN :nurse:

I want to have a quick shout out and big thank you to some people...

onehappynurse- for recommending me the kaplan strategy guide, its is TRULY a lifesaver

dumb- for giving me the idea of making flashcards about daily goals(even if I can't stick to most of them, at least it prevented me in becoming a complete slacker!)

caliotter- for being the first person to tell me to relax prior to the examination; I first overlooked it, but I realized how important that is on my second take!

gold2010,almostpedsnurse- you guys are amazing supporters, I thank you guys for that! You both made me realized that prayers can do wonder and it does! God is great... he will make it happen in His time!

and to everyone else, thank you for the support! Let's continue supporting each other, especially those who are still struggling. Keep your heads up, if there is a tomorrow, there will always be some hope!

Now my take on the NCLEX...

Know ONLY the essentials..what I mean by that is the common diseases, procedures, machines, medications, etc. Don't overload yourself with information because it can be "dangerous". Keep it simple, don't overthink. I know it sounds cliche-ish already but it is true. Like someone who already pointed it out here, the nclex does not test you as an experience nurse... but rather as a NEW graduate nurse. They KNOW already you don't know everything, so if you encounter a question about a disease/procedure/med that you have never heard before (and trust me you will) don't panic. Take a deep breath and try to concentrate on the question and what is being asked as much as possible. Read EVERY single word. I HIGHLY recommend Kaplan NCLEX RN 2010-2011 Strategy guide, helps you narrow things down easily. To those of you who think that you MUST answer at LEAST 3000-5000 questions before you take a test.. I beg to differ. I told myself "this time around I am definitely going to answer 3000 question" but I ended up only answering 1000 because I spend my time going over every single rationales and understanding the idea behind answering a particular question. Don't get too caught up with the scores; just like caliotter said.. it can go both ways. I was scoring 50-60s on kaplan and my overall is only 56%... so if I have a score like that and passed with 75 question, I'm sure anything is possible. Btw, the random fact thrower is a nice thread to look over!

Thank you for taking the time reading my post :) My hugs goes to all of you! :redbeathe

Congratulations. It is such a beautiful feeling!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:
