Maybe the Democrats picked now to come up with a lousy bill so they could either get what they want or try to make the Republicans look bad for killing it?  Remember, according to them there was no crisis at the border and the border has been secure.  Until now.

I don't believe that particular talking point has anything to do with the reality of wannabe immigrants at the Mexican border. It's meant to flood the zone - as Stene Bannon calls it - a la saint Ronald and the Iran hostage crisis in 1980.

Good news.  Jon Tester impressed me in the interviews I've seen.  Personable and very smart.

I agree. Tester is a pragmatic senator and represents his constituents well. He doesn't attempt to run peoples lives or try to prove to everyone that he's the smartest guy in the room. I would be surprised if he even talks to lobbyists or takes any corporate campaign contributions.

Our democracy is on the line.  The current political opposition is always seeking chaos and discord.  Sometimes the media plays into that, too often, in fact.

The important story isn't that he's old or makes verbal gaffes.  The real story is that Biden is standing against a political opponent who demonstrates no loyalty to truth, law and order, or the constitution. The real story is that the republican party is enabling a mentally ill authoritarian who literally tells them that he will terminate portions of the constitution or consider assassination of generals who disagree with his self absorbed "foreign policy". 

I'm just not buying into the hand-wringing. Biden is doing his job and he seems to be reasonably successful, maybe even skilled at making progress even in the face of practiced obstruction. The media is really pushing this narrative, that Biden is too old. Are they afraid to be equally bold with a narrative about Trump's existential threat to our republic as their leading story in this election year?

 Biden is only 4 years older than Trump but functions as if he were younger and certainly in better mental health.  But I do wonder who are the annointed ones in plan B.  

Apparently the White House is considering inviting "KC's biggest fan" I.e. Taylor Swift to the White House when they host the Chiefs, since apparently her endorsement of Biden is important.  She's not the first celebrity to get political.  Streisand was a big Clinton supporter for example.  But apparently Taylor Swift has people loosing their minds and is getting a lot of attention over on Fox where's she's part of the tool, rather than an independent voter making up her own mind.  I guess there's some idea floating around that people will vote for Biden just because she tells them to, like a cult leader.

Apparently, she's so entrenched in what people don't like, I all kinds of conspiracies are out there about her, including this off topic one " Taking to X, formerly Twitter, content creator Adin Ross stated that the "49ers deserved that win. It's so rigged I hope you guys can see it for what it is, truly rigged. Chiefs you guys got so lucky Taylor Swift bailed you guys out."

I hope she gets invited to the White House because I want to sit and eat popcorn.
