No, you've already paid the money to EC...it will show 0.00 paid. Don't worry you're good. Which exam are you taking?
Better, thanks for the info. :):)

:yeah:Congrats on taking this first step. I, too, have recently taken the plunge. My first test is this coming Saturday. I have put off, cancelled, you name it one too many times. I still don't feel prepared, but I am going to attempt...At least I will be getting my feet wet. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and I hope you will do the same for me.*HUGS*

You get a whiteboard and pen that you can use while in the testing center; you have to turn it in when you're done. The computer has a built-in calculator. You can only take your ID and a locker key into the testing center. You also have to remove your watch. Your fingerprint will also be scanned every time you enter and exit the test room. You are also recorded (audio/video) while testing. It's a bit "Big Brother," but it's not that bad. :)
Toby, I am so glad that Lunah answered your questions. Even though I am taking #7, and I am under the old curriculum...it is still my first exam. I chose to try and get the boring thing out of the way. I just can't get the info to stick. Anyway...I am in the same boat as you...A baby student in this program. LOL! Good Luck again. Traci

Don't feel like you are alone with this procrastination thing. I have put off scheduling the test for a year. I just scheduled the first nc1 test and will be taking it 10/30. I even made my husband take that day off so he could be my moral support. (he's such a prince, especially with my neurotic test a-phobia) Now its off to studying. My kids are even telling me to get off the computer and go study LOL, roles are a reversing at my house. Good luck to all taking their tests.

You'll be fine.
Did you take the practice tests?
I am proud of all of you! Sometimes taking the first test is the most difficult step. I did A&P first, and it took me a long time (about 8 months, actually) to get off the stick and get it scheduled and just DO it. Then I kicked myself a little because I realized I should have started sooner. :)
The first visit to the testing center made me so nervous because I didn't know about all the biometric stuff ... I was waiting for the retinal scan! LOL! When you go in, you can stow all your belonging in a locker and just keep the key and your photo ID. (Don't forget to remove your watch ... even if it's just an analog watch, you can't wear it.) The person at the desk will take your photo ID and find your testing information in the computer. You will provide a digital signature (it looks similar to the digital signature pad in stores if when you use a debit/credit card), do a scan of your right index finger, and they'll take your photo (digitally). When you're ready to test, you'll show your ID to the proctor, and he/she will have you do another scan of your index finger at the door. You'll also get the whiteboard and pen at this time. Then you'll be shown into the test room to your cubicle and the proctor will get your test started. (For NCLEX they gave me earplugs. I'm not sure if this is standard; I didn't get earplugs when I took EC exams.)
When you're done, you have to hand your whiteboard and pen back to the proctor, show her your ID again, and do the biometric fingerprint again. For EC exams, the grade sheet and a breakdown by subject area prints out when you're done, and they'll give this to you. Then you get your stuff from the locker and go celebrate!
