what to study 3wks till test!!

Published

:lol2: Hello just wondered if I can get some advice on how to study 3wks pre nclex-rn. I have the Saunders book and cd....but I've been reading the posts and everyone seems to be doing Kaplan. Kaplan is sooo expensive....is it worth it? Any help please...taking exam 6/30 and want to buy/start a online review. Just wanted to know what has worked for others? Thanks

I am also planning to take nclex soon. I've read kaplan book and saunders but i prefer the latter. I like the way, saunders explained the rationales. Good luck.

thanks for reply, have you looked into any online reviews? Tempted to purchase Kaplan...but there are others that are cheaper...not sure which one to purchase!!! AAAHHHH.Anxiety all over again! good luck to you too.

I would highly recommend Saunders! worked for me! and I was out of school for 12 years and just passed monday!!!!

goodluck in your studies!

Awesome....so you focused on the Saunders book and cd? A lot of people been talking about Kaplan review...but maybe I'll hold off on getting that and use what I have Saunder and Lippincott. Do you think three weeks of hard studying in sufficient? I just graduated a few weeks ago and I also did well onour last hesi. Starting to freak out a little bit about this whole thing. Thanks for your reply.

Well I grad on the 5/20 and I plan on taking this test on 6/21. I have been studing Davis, Lippincott, Kaplan. I broke down yesterday and bought Saunders. I have done about 300+ questions since yesterday. And I find that Saunders touches upon things that the other books dont mention. I also am scared crapless about testing as it is, so if all else fails theres Xanax (Lol)

I am taking NCLEX 6/26 and am very nervous as well. I've started my job as a GN so working long hours. A friend of mine paid 50 dollars for the online review course offered by the NCSBN website and said it was very helpful for her. She passed about a week ago. So I started that earlier this week and have found it very helpful so far. It's very good at reviewing all the really important topics to focus on. I've heard a lot of the test is priority type questions. We just have to be confident that we're prepared. Positive thinking and hard work pay off in the end!

That review's website is learningext.com (not learningtext.com)

Hey everyone,

The moderator of this forum, Suzanne4, has a study plan that was worked for so many people. The focus of her plan is using Saunder's material. If you would like to use this plan, send a PM to Suzanne4, let her know how many weeks that you'll need and if you've taken the NCLEX before. If you've taken the NCLEX before, let her know what you were studying.

Best of luck to you all!

i haven't yet looked into online reviews, but if i may, i'll enroll saunders on line review. have only finished reading saunders strategies which is really good and helpful in answering practice test. i have mentioned before, i've read kaplan but i dont like their presentation of the book. as to saunders, the moment i started reading the strategies, i cant put it down. i hope you have decided now which review material to use.let's be positive that we will make it.:wink2:

I have tried to get the study plan from her and i couldnt...i told her when my test is and everything...but she told me her plan was 6 weeks and there wasnt much she could do for me at this point with just three weeks...talk about discouragement...but im reviewing my saunders and i'll have no one but myself to thank and pat on the back for doing the BEST i can...I have faith that if god brought me this far than he wouldnt leave me now...do the best you can and review one book only to prevent any confusions...thats all i can say...i have tried to get advice and i still end up in square one...

Yes, I only have about 2 weeks left and was wondering if I should just pay the $50 for the NCSBN online review?

I just took NCLEX this morning...I paid the $50 for the NCSBN online review almost a month ago and didn't finish the whole thing. It was okay, but it was mainly an outline of material, post tests (the questions were of a similar format to NCLEX), and quizzes.. I'm not sure I'd recommend it, especially if you only have 2 weeks before the test. To be quite honest, I found it boring and hard to sit at the computer and read it. I enjoyed studying the Saunders book more.
