Students... hobbies?

When you are a nursing student... are you still able to find time for hobbies that you enjoy doing? If so, what do you like to do?

I am a scrapbooker, and I hope that I can find time to do it when I am in school... today I just finished scrapbooking my "acceptance letter." It looks really neat, and I have put it up on my blog!

Depends on how many other obligations (work, family) you've got going. I wasn't working during school, but took care of children and home, etc. My "free" time was spent doing laundry and taking boys to little league, grocery shopping, that kind of stuff.

You may have a little free time during breaks to do some scrapbooking. Or if you schedule time for it, like your mental health hour every week. "Saturday from 10-11 will be time for me to have fun doing ____." Sounds funny, but during school, soooo many things get stuck on the back burner...

Good luck. There's life after school!

My spare time these days is spent doing laundry, carting my kids to their activites and collecting the world's largest pile of magazines waiting to be read.

I suppose I could find time for hobbies but I really enjoy watching my children. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and when they compete I sit and watch the entire competition all day long. Same goes for my son during marching band season.

I have five kids and my husband travels for work (6 weeks at a time, then he comes home for a week and he's off again), so between my family obligations and school, I'm lucky I get to shower, LOL!

Hobbies? What are those again? :chuckle

Nah. My hobbies consist of only one: SLEEPING!!!! I never get to do that anymore. If I do, it's pretty much 2 or 3 hours at a time. My time is spent studying til the wee hours of the morning and preparing for clinicals. When I am able to catch those wonderful catnaps, I cherish them for all they are worth.

If I'm not sleeping (and I have some free time) I go to church and stay busy with that. I gotta give God His time, too. Then...oh yeah. My family. They deserve some time as well. However, when I know I'm going to have some free time, I make sure to go out!!! (The movies are my "out") Love it. Oh well. It'll be worth it when I become a nurse. :nurse:

I haven't had time for my hobbies since I started school. I used to research geneaology , play sweepstakes, and exercise a lot. Now I find that if I get some housework done , study time in and 8 hours of sleep around 3 kids and a husband it was a great day

i am a scrapper too! i stopped scrapping when i started school and wasn't able to do any till summer break. was too busy day after day with the tests. now that summer is over and it is closer to graduation (april 26th!!!) i have been itching to do it again. i just started checking out the websites and the message boards out again. yesterday, in between school stuff, i actually altered something. yeahhhh!!!!!!

my advice is to keep a notebook while in school of the things that you want to scrap so that when you are done you can pick up where you left off. if you do have time during school then pick a day and set a time for you so that you can do it.

i can honestly tell you i had no time at all with the studying. it really sucked but i have a career now to show for it. ya know?

good luck to you my fellow scrapper!!:)
