Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2018

Hey Everyone,

Now that the deadline for the class of 2018 Basic BSN program at Stony Brook University is coming up, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to and for all applicants. I hope there isn't already a thread made already because I searched thoroughly but could not find one. If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to comment. Best of luck to all of you on your applications!

Not sure how long the interview process goes for. I submitted my application Christmas week and I was emailed for an interview the 3rd week in January. I believe that an interview means you are being considered for a seat because they did state that in order to continue being eligible for a seat an interview must be completed. As far as interviews still being sent out I have no idea. The staff is very friendly at the school of nursing, I would suggest calling and asking whether all interview requests have gone out. No harm done in asking. I've learned that it takes persistency to get answers.

What's the email that I should keep an eye out for?does is it stonybrook or school of nursing? I'm not exactly sure of what I'm looking for..

I believe they were direct from Stony Brook University and one was from the program assistant.

Just by looking at your profile picture I'm assuming Us3 tht you're a guy . . . and I had five other girls with me. I had 1 pm interview. And you?

And just another note, I was told that there were 130 interviews. Makes me feel a little bit better, I hope it does for the rest of you. I managed to answer all of the math questions. Now whether the answers were correct . . . hmmmm.

I heard from multiple people it was 150. 130 seems kinda low but either way its above a 50% chance. Yea my interview was at 9AM i think.

Hey guys! I had my interview on 2/16 after it was rescheduled because of snow on 2/8. I'm just worried about the math section. I had to leave 2 blank because I ran out of time. Hopefully it's enough to get me in...fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone!

I hope we hear back sooner than 6-8 weeks

Yeah. Im looking at the calendar and the earliest I could possibly hear back would be the end of march! By then I'm going to have lost all my sanity!

I've lost my sanity the day I started this thread. I constantly check my emails hoping for a reply even though we won't get one for a while.

I heard from so many people that we wouldn't be getting the interview invitation until mid-February and we all got the email in January - so keeping my fingers-crossed that they get the acceptance emails out sooner as well. Funny thing is I never checked my emails before. Maybe once per week I would go in and delete everything. Now it's daily. I can't imagine how I'll be at the end of March.

I didn't receive an interview yet either.. I've been checking my emails obsessively. I handed everything in on time also. So hopefully they still have more to send out. I submitted my application a few days before the deadline. How about you?

I also submitted mine a few days before the deadline but know that everything got in on time.
