Stony Brook Basic BSN Class of 2018

Hey Everyone,

Now that the deadline for the class of 2018 Basic BSN program at Stony Brook University is coming up, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to and for all applicants. I hope there isn't already a thread made already because I searched thoroughly but could not find one. If you have any questions or just want to talk feel free to comment.     Totally!! I was so caught up in getting the questions with long division correct that I lost a lot of time. I have faith that my essay, GPA, and interview answers will hold me down!! Its awesome to have others to talk to that are going through the same process. It's an excellent avenue for venting :geek:

    6-8 weeks is what they told us as well. They did say that whether we got accepted, waitlisted, or denied we would still here from them. I'm nervous but confident.

    I had my interview last week on the 9th and was told that 500 people applied to the program, 150 people are being interviewed, and 80 people will be accepted into the program. This wait time is definitely killing me!

    Yes those were the exact numbers they told us. it seems the odds are a little over half who interview will be accepted. Those who interview are in a good place.

    I applied Jan 7 , i didnt receive anything about an interview. Is it either an interview then acceptance or decline or straight acceptance?

    They email you about an interview first, then email whether you were either accepted, wait listed, or denied from the program.

    Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure you have to have an interview. I haven't heard of straight acceptances for a few years.

    Any chance that they are still sending out Interview e-mails? Seems that a decent amount of people interviewed on February 8th. Just wondering if there's a small chance that they haven't sent out all the e-mails yet.

    Hi Everyone. So glad to see so many of you are excited. I had my interview on the 10th with 5 other awesome students. I hope each one of us gets in. Does anyone on this thread go to Suffolk?

    I didn't receive an interview yet either.. I've been checking my emails obsessively. I handed everything in on time also. So hopefully they still have more to send out. I submitted my application a few days before the deadline. How about you?
