Still Looking.......

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I've been a clinic RN for 3.5 years. Before that, I was an LPN. I am still in a clinic, and looking to expand my MIND. My plan was to suffer through 1 year of med-surg, then do travel nursing. Who knows? I may LOVE Med Surg.

The trouble is, no one wants to hire me. So frustrated. I'm trying to hang on at my job now, but ready to just quit and let the government take care of me for a bit.

UGH.

LoL! And 5,4,3, 2, 1...... Runs to the kitchen to microwave popcorn.... Anybody else would like something from the kitchen?

How sad that you see welfare as a viable option. Maybe you could try mail order ?

It is sad. I really could never do it unless I needed to. But there are days I see people coming in that are perfectly able to work and don't. But I know that's a whole other story.

And no, popcorn not needed. I shouldn't be chastised in anyway silly!

Well, you kinda should be chastised if you see unemployment benefits as preferable to an honest, albeit boring, job.

Take a look around here at all the unemployed new and not-so-new grads who can't find a nursing position. Perhaps a reality check is in order?

Hell I wouldn't qualify anyway. It wasn't boring at first. But I started feeling more like a " message taker" ya know.

Something tells me you're not hearing the message being conveyed.

Good luck on your job hunt. Depending on your market, it may not easy [sounds like that is the case]. Don't give up though. At least you have some RN experience so you do have some advantage, however small, over new grads competing for the same jobs.

I hear you realred, it is frustrating out there. Keep looking and putting your resume out. Maybe take a trauma nurse certification course, ACLS, etc to beef up your resume. Try applying at a VA, they may love you!

I did the ACLS and all that Jazz, didn't help me a bit.
