Spring 2009 Graduating Class

Just wanted to send a prayer of gratitude and good luck to all taking their finals in the next few weeks. I'm finishing up my third semester of a 2 year ADN program, graduating in May 2009! It's so amazing and crazy how quickly it's gone, when I look back at the last year and a half. We've come so far, we can do it! And if no one has told you that they're proud of you today, or if you're feeling down on yourself, I'm proud of you and us! Best of luck in our last semester!!!!!

Seems like just yesterday, I was here reading these posts, following my 1st or 2nd semester, just like you. The time really does fly. Just not fast enough for an old, impatient dude like myself. :coollook:

I understand the old and impatient thing all too well!!! But looks like your almost there!!! :yeah:

Are you from Tx?? If so what part? Thinking of relocating after school and Tx is an area we were looking at.

Good Luck to you!

I'm originally from East Texas, near Tyler. Lived in Huntsville for a long time, working for the prison system. Currently living in the crappy, run-for-your-life-in-the-other-direction Rio Grande Valley, but we're moving as soon as I graduate (May 2009) and my wife's contract is up (June 2009).

We're either going back to Tyler, or to Austin (or possibly Houston). We have grandkids in San Antonio, but I don't want to live there...so we're leaning toward Austin (less than 2 hours from SA).

Thanks so much!!!! I needed those words of encouragement. Im was kinda getting down on myself, because even though I'll done with school in five months, I know finding a job will take a looooong time!!!!:wtosts:

We have looked at Tyler as well.....seems like an all around great kind of area! I have a brother in Sherman, but hubby and I are also hunters so have to look at all those aspects....lol. We're both kinda small town kinda people, so maybe the outskirts of some of the big cities were appealing. I have family in San Antonio as well, but not a huge urge to live there.

You know anything about the pay aroung Tyler?? Seems like it all just depends on who you ask about what pay is in different places.

Leah

The pay in Tyler is going to be less than in the major metros like Austin, Houston, and Dallas, due to it being a rural area. However, the hospitals are said to be great to work for, and the cost of living in Tyler is much less than in the big cities. And Tyler is a great little city.

Thanks for the info!!

Great talkin to ya......good luck in your next semester!

May 20th, here I come! Spring semester (4th semester of nursing in my 4 year BSN) starts on the 26th of this month. I'm doing my senior practicum right now. I really had no idea I could get this far. :heartbeat

May 18th is my pinning!! It has been a long journey and I am so proud of everyone. thanks for all the support. It has been encouraging to know that no matter what crazy nursing student issue / dilemma I can always count on the folks here to be there for me. Tanks :thankya:

Good Luck to everybody!

Pretty soon, we will join the ones who "dare to care" by becoming nurses

May God Bless you today, tomorrow and always

Yes~~ Spring 09 Graduating Class~

Great Thread! I am so excited to graduate. I can't believe it, 18 weeks to go. It seems like forever. Hopefully this semester goes by quickly.:yeah:I hope you all do well.

May 8, 2009 is calling my name. I can't wait to walk across that stage. It has been a long hard road. These past 3 semesters have flown by and this last 1 seems like it will also. I'm taking Med-Surg III and Trends & Issues. I hope we all get through this semester and pass boards on the 1st time. We can do it!!!

In the words of my 3yr old big girl, this thread makes my "heart happy"!!!LOL. I can't believe it, just four more months to go in the ADN. I've moved twice, got pregnant, and gave birth all in the same nursing program!!!! Congrats to you all, I know the feeling. Keep up the good Work!!!!!We Can Do IT!!!

I noticed a typo i made :wink2:
