Say it ain't so! I have secretly cyber stalked you ever since I found out about WGU! You have been my motivation you can't fizzle out now! Can you start with an hour a day on your school work and just focus on the task then take it from there? Do you need me to cheer you on? Ok. Klone can do it YES SHE CAN if she can't do it NOBODY CAN!!! That's all I got.

Finish out this semester and try a term break to recharge? :) :) You can do this!

You have 60 days. Take 7 completely off from school. Do something fun. Then get back at it. I had exactly the same experience while working on my WGU MSN. That week away really, really helped.

Kline, you were my inspiration for starting WGU! I start Oct 1! I understand how you feel and, really, it is only natural. Taking a term break after this one is a good idea. But for right now, put it in gear! Reward yourself with something great

I know how you feel. Just take a trip away for 2 or 3 days and unwind without thinking about school. Get refreshed and Clear your head. Then you can come back and finish your last classes and be done.

Before you go for your Doctorate make sure to take a couple months or so off from school and just focus on yourself family and work if needed.

I am on burnout myself. I noticed it in this last class I was in Microbiology. My last day was this past Saturday, I pray I passes it because I could not focus, concentrate or even get into doing the course work like I use too. I was so unmotivated and just done with classes. So now that this class ended I said no more school until January.

I Know I have to take A&P 2 again because my grade wasn't good enough but it can wait. I was in another Bachelor degree program for Human Services prior to my science classes and have been in school the last 6 1/2 years straight with no break. I plan to get away and relax, focus on life for a bit and enjoy being free of school for awhile. Time to get our brains back functioning so that we can focus and get to our goals. I haven't entered the nursing program thats why the break is definitely needed for me.

How is WGU? I am thinking of attending the pre-licensing program here in California. I am just alittle nervous about the whole online class portion.

klone, I feel you. I got my MBA in Health Care Management from WGU last year, and believe me, by the time I was finished I was burnt to a crisp! YOU CAN DO IT!!!! If I, the eternal procrastinator, can do it, YOU CAN TOO! Take a couple of days to recharge your batteries. Talk to your student mentor. Revisit the WHY of you enrolling in the program. I promise, you WILL see the light at the end of the tunnel and be so glad that you made it through to the other side.

Thanks all. I'm still here, plugging along, plugging along. I have 8 weeks left in my term, and 5 tasks to complete. I will just complete one task per week, and then it will be a new semester, new classes, the light at the end of the tunnel.

Funny, a week ago, I was saying that after this degree, I'm DONE. And wouldn't you know, two nights ago, I was just telling my husband "Hey honey, I was thinking that after I'm done with my program, maybe I'll take the class to get a Six Sigma Lean Blackbelt."

I have a feeling that like childbirth, I'm destined to forget the pain of schooling, and always think another degree or another certification will be a good idea. I don't think I'm ever going to be done until I retire (I'm sure my husband has other ideas, though).

Give yourself the assignment of refreshing your motivation: look at job postings and salaries. Ask an MSN doing a job you might like to let you visit the classroom, office, etc...go to lunch w/ him/her. Make it real!

Take frequent breaks, WALK, exercise! Break it into tiny parts and reward yourself every time you do oe. "Just the reading", "just the outline", "just alphabetize the references", etc.

Study someplace different...go to the library for a set number of hours/days a week and no budging til you've done that day's piece, but no guilt or stress after you have. Day's over--go home, enjoy!

Do something different. Even prisoners know that when you're doing time, the closer to the release date you get, the slower tie crawls. That's all it is...do NOT give in!

I agree with the above. Make it through this semester and take a solid week or 3 off. But don't take a semester off, like I did. It makes it so much more painful and longer if you do.

Thank you for posting this, at least I'm not alone in the burn out feelings. I am currently in the field experience and capstone course and I am feeling like I can't do it. Moreover, I also feel like that I don't have one more paper left in me. I started this the MSN -Ed in May of this year and it has been one lonely journey. I learn better on my own, but there are times I wish that wgu would be a bit more involved. Sigh
