SICK (whine)

Well, the famous immune system that has been known to attack squirrels in the back yard has finally given in: yesterday, I came down with what feels like bronchitis. It was my daughter's 18th birthday, and it was all I could do to get through dinner before I fell asleep on the sofa. I seem to have this magnetic attraction to horizontal surfaces, my throat is hot and itchy, and it hurts so much to cough that my chest feels like raw hamburger. I'm not running much of a fever (100 degrees just now), but I feel like something the dog dug up under the house. This is the first time I've even been on the computer since Monday night......and I'm fading fast.

Please, don't tell me to go to the doctor....they're loaded to the roof with five bazillion other sufferers, and anyway I was just there Monday for my annual physical, and my blood pressure was so high (180/120) that I got put on a 4th antihypertensive medication. In fact, I thought I was feeling crappy because of the meds, when in reality it was the beginning of this sickness.

Sorry about the whining........I just HATE being sick, and I even had to miss work tonight. So I think I'll just slink off to my warm bed (again), slather some Vicks on my chest, and gather some cats to keep my feet from freezing off. 'Night.:zzzzz

:balloons: ((((((mjlrn97)))))) You'll be in my prayers tonight. Get your rest, drink your fluids, take your Tylenol, inhale the Vitamin C, and chicken soup is great to eat when you are sick. :kiss

I went to the doctor after having this cough for three weeks. My doctor said a lot of people are waiting like I did for it to go away and end up with pneumonia.

It's up to you, doctor now for bronchitis, or later for pneumonia.

I ended up with bronchitis and ear infections.

Thanks, everybody!

I'm really glad I got the pneumonia vaccine a couple of years ago, or I'd be more concerned about this......on the rare occasions when I do get sick, it almost invariably goes to my chest, and that's where this started. I also got the flu shot this fall, as I do every year, and this is definitely not flu. I just have this nasty raw-hamburger feeling in my chest, an itchy throat, a low-grade fever, and fatigue......spent 14 hours in bed last night and only got up because my back is killing me from being in bed so much!

I promise, I'll go to the doctor if things get worse, but right now having to get dressed seems like too much work............:o

We admitted four patients from our office last week just for this reason, and all of them were otherwise healthy people between the ages of 22 and 51....Its really scary!!
