Sick of night shift

I currently work as a night shift nurse at a hospital and I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I would like to try another avenue of nursing rather than bedside but not sure what to do. I have about 7 yrs experience in varied acute care areas in the hospital. I have two small children, so the 9-5 M-F deal seems like it would be hard to handle. I am fine working independently. I have considered UM, but I don't have managed care experience, and those seem to be bankers hours. If anybody has any different ideas or experiences please let me know! Also, feel free to just complain about night shift, since I have taken the liberty....

Who doesn't? Thanks for the helpful reply.

You don't want to work nights but don't want to work days either? What other options are there? Most of the non bedside positions are usually bankers hours which is a lot of the appeal for some people. Not me but to each their own. If you want to stay 3 12's than look for a day position in the hospital. It's still going to interfere with childcare but it seems more manageable than mon-fri. One of the reasons why I stay nights even though I would love a day position. It just doesn't work well with kid.

So you don't want to work nights but you don't want to work 9-5? What hours *do* you want to work then? 🤔

How about just be a stay-at-home mom?

How about just be a stay-at-home mom?

In an ideal world, this is what I would do. And work part-time so I can keep my foot in the door and get a full-time job if I need to or my kids get older.

But COL is often too high :(

United Healthcare has positions where u work from home. It is like 9-5. And u get a 1 hour break. So maybe that is the time u can pick up your kids??

Or even though u hate nights. Do u have to stay full time for benefits?? U can always go staff relief. No benefits Make more an hour and work like two 12s

Also what about home health?? Alot of driving but u make ur own hours to see pts??

Download the Indeed app. It is a great resource when looking for a RN position

OR nursing 7-3, out patient, cath lab, IR, case management, dialysis..

whats col?

How about 11a - 7p? Or 3 to 11?

I knew someone who was in a similar situation who switched to home health and loved it. She sent her girl to school, worked cases for part of the day, and was home when her girl got home.
