Scared Crapless

I am a first semester nursing student and I just failed my first test on Wednesday. FAILED as in a 65. I was devestated. I studied my butt off. Anyways, I now have a 71 average and need a 75 to pass. I have a final in 6 days that counts for 19 percent of my grade and I need an 80 to pass the course. I have been studying but i am so nervous i don't know if it is doing any good. Do I have a shot? Should I quit? What tips do you have that can make my studying more effective over the next 6 days? HELP!:crying2:

Ohhh ok. I took it as though all you had left was your final. Then that case, you have it made!

Good luck

Not necessarily, we had papers and projects in undergrad that were pretty big projects...10-15% of the grade, etc. But they don't count unless your test and final exam average were above passing. My school did not allow a paper, project, quiz, extra credit, etc. to PASS you. You had to be passing first

1. first, take a deep breath and relax.

2. grab all the powerpoint and notes and go over them diligently.

3. next, go to the textbooks and go over the topics that you did not understand from the powerpoint.

4. make an appointment with the professor to see if you can review the old tests.

5. review the powerpoints and class notes again

6. on the last day prior to the exam, get a good night rest.

7. on the day of the exam, remember to relax, pray and confidently march into that exam room and do your best.

8. even if you fail, do not give up. see it as an incentive to do better next semester.

9. asking for help is a sign of strong self-esteem.

10. good luck...all will be okay...

I've got my final on Tuesday. It counts for 35% of our total grade. But I'm taking my time studying, doing the online tests, and reviewing all my notes. If you do the same, we'll all finish up where we want to be --Moving on to the next semester. Good luck everyone.

Hmmmm at this point here is my suggestion....

If you have access to ATI, they have a thingy called ATI Nurse Logic...

This would be an excellent use of your time and help you on this test and the rest of the way, all the way through NCLEX.

I passed my test!!! I studied my butt off and didn't change ANY of the answers! I think that was my BIGGEST issue! I would change answers only to find out that they were right in the first place! SO, won the battle...Monday I will find out if I won the WAR! SECOND SEMESTER BOUND!

Fantastic!! Great job:yeah:I hope it works out for you

What kind of program are you in? You find out you failed your FIRST test and 6 DAYS LATER is the final?

I'm in an ADN-RN program. The test I failed wasn't my first test of the semester. It was the first test that I failed (and it happened to be the last test before the final exam). AND I FAILED IT MISERABLY! That test was the week before my final exam and I was very nervous because it dropped my average and made it IMPERATIVE that I pass my final exam to stay in the program. I was understandably scared out of my mind and I sequestered myself in a library for the whole week leading up to the final and I passed!!!

For me, I make flash cards. I make about 50 from the study guide. Then I have someone flash me......

HEHE.... have someone flash me. Giggity! Sorry too early in the morning and I have one last final tonight. I'm a bit punchy. :):D
