Retrogression's affect on you

I did ask my lawyer about this and she couldn' really give me an answer except I may be affected. Guess I will just have to wait and see what happens

I understand that most of you are quite worried. I know that OGP sent out a letter to all of you that you would be affected. But they messed things up for many of you.

Most of their nurses that they solicited in the UK are actually from the PIC countries and are currently working in the UK. They are the ones that will be affected, plus a few other countries added in.

You may find a slow down for a few weeks but things will then get done much faster for you.

Same thing that happened with the retorgression last year. One nurse from the UK started the process from the very beginning in February, and was in the US with a green card by the end of the summer.

Take some time to do some reading on this and save your sanity.

Another thing is that nobody can predict the timeline and USCIS decision. My friend received her appointment for interview and medical by mid of October although her case was completed by the NVC only a week ago. Approx. 2 months waiting is not bad...lol...She's from Far east asia but working in NHS, UK... Let us see other's comment by next month... Waiting is so boring I understand too, let's hope for the best... Time is fast approaching... "Laughter is a good medicine"...:biggringi

I spoke with ogp and the letter was just a general letter really to cover themselves in case some nurses are delayed ogp said it may not affect anybody they don't know when or how it will affect people

No one really knows which countries will be affected but I think mainly where the demand for visas are higher like India, Phillipines ect. I would just get on with the process ie NCLEX ect and wait to see what happens. Even if in the UK it will depend on place of birth not where currently residing

I am British, in the UK, passed NCLEX April 2005, job offer May 2005, I-140 approved (finally):monkeydance: in July 2006, and still patiently waiting. PLEASE tell me retrogression wont' affect me, I cant seem to get a straight answer from anyone!!

noone can say in the early moments everyone won't be affected. Has you visa fee been paid to the NVC? that would probably be more a way of saying you won't be affected as you will have a visa number. I think we are looking at November before visa's run out

Is that the $380 paid to the Department of State? If so then yes, I paid it a few weeks ago. Its an absolute minefield out there, so many different websites given different stories. I sure am glad Im nearing the end (hopefully), its been a looooooong haul!!!!!!!!
