Question for those who just finished A&P I

I had a pretty easy teacher but around 4-8 hours. The rule of thumb should be 3 hours for every one hour in class.

I'm hoping you mean 4-8 hours per week, not per day. :rotfl:

i just finished A and P 1 this semester and it's finally over!! thank god!!:) i dont know exactly how many hours per week i spent studying but i do know that before my exams i crammed a lot. (not exactly the way to go about it) i would suggest that after every lecture, you study the chapter that the teacher lectures on. and to space out your study time and not try to cram everything the day before tests, like me!!!:chuckle

p.s. When taking A&P there is soooooooooo much material to learn that it is best that you not take too many classes while taking A&P

My advisor recommended that I take A&P1 and A&P2 accelerated in the same semester. She said take nothing else, except maybe psych 101 to bring me up to 12 credits. What do you think about 1 & 2 accelerated in one semester?

I studied and hour a day for both A&P classes.

How many hours per day/week did you find that you needed to study for A&P I?

I had A&P on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I had two hours to kill before my first class, and I made it a point to go straight from work (I work nights) to the library and study for A&P for those two hours. So, that's about 6 hours a week there... and I carried my books everywhere... especially at work, if I got a chance, I'd pull them out and go over the material. Then, for about 2-3 days before each test, I would try and put in an extra 2-4 hours a day studying, regardless of my other classes. And the night before the test I studied all night, with some breaks of course! (Remember, I work nights, so I'm up all night every night... I scheduled myself off the night before every test so I could get that extra review time).

So, we're looking at 10-16 hours per week, depending on whether there is a test that week... and depending on how easy/difficult I found the material for each unit.

Worked for me - I finished the class last week w/ a 104%

TOTALLY agree on not to take too many classes :)

I studied about 1-2 hrs a day, more if there was a test coming up. Then some days I didn't study at all. The main thing is to stay on top of it. If there's a concept you don't understand, do everything to get to a place of understanding. There are SO many resources online, most books come with a cd that is so helpful, and usually the teacher is available to ask questions to.

I just found out I made a 96 in lecture and 98 in Lab! Yes!! It's nice to know that hard work pays off. Looking forward to A&PII in a few weeks! Stay on top of things, and you can do it!

Thanks for all the replies, I am trying to figure out how much time I need to set aside for this class because I have to juggle a work schedule too.

I took this course 2 semesters ago, I am an overachiever, so I found that studying atleast 1 hour a day helped me get through the course with my A. The same goes for A&P II.

I found it more effective to study in 10-15 minute intervals, then go do something else (like housework) and come back. I cannot sit there and study for hours because I will lose focus and not learn anything. :)

Somedays I studied about 1hour a day. But near test time I studied any free time I had. I got a 95 on my final and an A for the semester. Now onto AP 2
