provocative undergarments

:uhoh3: Nurses who wear provocative undergarments under white scrub pants & low-cut tops, how are they affecting the image of nursing as a profession? Does this represent the initial view of nursing in the 1800s?

I love them. Absolutely love them.

Fortunately we don't have any nurses on my unit that dress this way, but I notice some of the female nursing students that come on the unit for clinicals will wear g-strings under their white scrub pants. I think it's up to the instructors to address this.

There is a time and place for everything... provacative undergarments, even colored ones, you know black or red under white scrubs is inappropriate. We are professionals, we need to dress that way to reflect our professional attitudes... let's not buy into how the media portrays us...

Probably like a certain President's zipper problem affected the image of the presidency!

Or like the Bryant or Pucket sexual abuse cases affect professional athletes.

A lot of weight is placed upon appearances, so shame on those nurses, CNA's, therapists or anyone who's not a Victoria's Secret model selling undergarments. It demeans women, not just nursing. Wear what you want...but I don't want to see it.

They weren't provocative but.... I had a nurse manager once who was skanky to the bone! We all hated her and did our best to get her out of there... Long story, and I won't bore you with details.... but she would wear old holey black and white striped underwear under dirtly looking old white scrubs... now that's professional! :uhoh3:

I think anyone with a shred of common sense could answer this one for him/herself.

Smilin Blue Eyes - Sorry to tell you this, but we had to write a policy telling people to wear underwear....yuck! Some people don't have the common sense of a worm.

ewww...

I get pretty icked out when I see girls wearing no bra's or their thong sticking up out of their jeans when I'm shopping or running errands no less in a professional work environment.

Oh another one....people that wear those clear strap bras w/ tank tops...do they think that is 'okay?" it's worse than wearing a reg bra w/ one in my opinion.

Granny whites for me all the way....no way would I want to draw attention to my A#%$ while at work...it's unprofessional...whether it's work work or a student clinical/class setting.

We have a nurse who waers tight t-shirts under a scrub jacket and when any men are around off comes the jacket and out comes the boobs. And I mean any men. Young, old, handsome, ugly. Her personality changes too. Giggles and looking up through her eyelashes. Men go away and she's freezing and tired. Coat goes back on and all the animation goes out of her. I don't even know if she realizes she does it. How could she not? The guys love it. Pretty disgusting.

It is amazing this even has to be discussed. I think letting your undies show isnt sexy...........its tacky and unprofessional. I cant believe the people that let their kids do the thong thing......disgusting. On a lighter note, we have been giving a fellow student a teasing.....she is a 60s refugee that wears tiedye all the time.......we tell her, better get ready because in clinicals its all white scrubs....she threatens to show up for clinical in white scrubs and tie dye panties, :rotfl:

I remember having to discipline a nurses aide once a LONG time ago for wearing panties to work with bright red lettering on the seat. It read....very clearly....NO APPOINTMENT NECCESSARY!

She saw nothing wrong with this  :rotfl:
