Yes regional accreditation is needed.

Nursing school at 38?
No, I don't think age will affect your placement. I'm excited and not worried about it. Just let go of the anxiety and think positive. I know it is hard to do so but once you do you will feel a lot better.

A&p 1
I study a few hours most days of the week. This sounds about right. 12 hours may seem like a lot but there is soooo much info involved with A&P.

Nursing school at 38?
I'm 35 and I'm waiting on placement for the nursing program. Never give up if it is your passion. You took care of your kids so now put yourself first.

Current CNA Pay Range
I live in Arizona and work in a Rehab Hospital and started with no experience at $12.50.

CNA/patient ratio
I agree. In my rehab hospital we have between 6-9 patients depending on the census. I work 5am-5:30pm and am responsible for doing vitals 3 times a day, getting patients to the dining room 3 times and day, and showers and answering call lights throughout the day. We have inpatient PT,OT, and speech. I have 1 nurse who is assigned to the same patients as I am and everyone no matter if they are housekeeping, case manager, etc is responsible for answering the call lights to at least see what the patient needs. Since they are not trained to ambulate the patient they must find the nurse, PT, or tech to help the patient but they still cannot ignore the light. We have a good system.

Not religious and working in Hospice?
Hi, While doing my clinicals for CNA I was on the hospice floor. I'm not really religious and was wondering if it would be akward to work in hospice. We are supposed to be there as support for family members. If a resident's family asked you to pray with them how would you handle it? This can be for Nurses or CNAs as I am a nursing student. I haven't been in the situation but just wanted to know your advice on it.

Am I just being too sensitive?
No matter your title it doesn't give anyone a right to disrespect you. You should always try and work it out between yourselves before escalating it above. The bringing the tray out from the room could have been done especially if she was just in there. Just my opinion.

Funniest thing you've heard in an interview
- Has anyone questioned becoming a nurse?
I think it all depends on the management of the facility also. If the employees are not happy then there is a reason behind this. Yes, everyone has their bad days but if everyone you see is in a pissed off mood then there is a larger problem going on.- Got my first CNA job. Really scared.
You are just too nervous. Just remember that everyone goes through this and you can handle it. Everyone makes mistakes. Good luck.- CNA Entrance Exam
I am not all that great in Math either and was nervous about taking the entrance exam also but I just did a little refreshing of fractions and I ended up making a 93 on it. Don't worry too much. Anxiety is the worst part.- "Smart" students make bad nurses?
These are pretty good tips! Thank you- NO flashcards--use quizlett
I have heard of quizlet. I have not used it before. Do you use it with your studying? Does it take a long time to set it up? - Has anyone questioned becoming a nurse?
