  1. A coworker of mine went from Critical to Newborn Nursery because she wanted to experience Life and something positive for a change. Well stated.
  2. Days. And no way would I be a female in corrections with the systemic problems. Best wishes to you !!
  3. In the 80s, most patients were 150-250 pounds with a few health problems and a couple of medications. Visiting was limited so sick people could rest. I worked with good NAs & LPNs & didn’t care about your degree. We helped each other. The public mostly treated us with respect. My 30th year, I had 4 stepdown patients with average weight load of 1000 pounds per night, easily. Screamed at almost daily & rarely sat down. Retired from bedside.
  4. Had to look at that response twice-I thought you wrote a CDiff bar 😂😂😂
  5. I retired at 51 two years ago. It is a huge adjustment, but I love it. Having a plan for all the free time helps. You need to exercise to make up for calories you are not burning by working. I wanted to enjoy life some before I got too old or started having health problems. I may do something in the future, but right now, I enjoy life and feel very happy & content.
  6. YOU keep doing your thing, get good grades, get your LPN, RN, and be able to support yourself for the rest of your life without any financial help from anybody. It will pay off. I just retired after 30 years and I am 53. As for your BFF, a lot of folks show their narcissistic traits on social media and pretend to be something they are not. But you may need to distance yourself, blame it on school. If she would illegally present herself as a licensed Nurse online, what else is she capable of. Basically, she is a liar. It would be great if you could talk to her but indirectly-say an article about someone else who got busted for claiming Nursehood. Just casually show your friend this article. Your mind= blown Best of Luck to you !!! NC nursing board scolds Republican Beverly Boswell for claiming to be a nurse. | News & Observer
  7. Be proud to say "I work with adults with developmental disabilities" . That's awesome. I do not have the patience for that. It is irritating to be made to feel like you are "less". Experienced that while working as a Mobile ICU nurse..."Oh, you fly on the helicopter?!!" and I would explain No, but we are the same except I have wheels and not rotor blades, we come when the helicopter cannot due to weather, flying makes me throw up, etc and I would get "Oh" ..(end of conversation). Do what you love, be smart with your money, and you can retire at 52 like KlineRN...microphone drop...
