  1. How about because you prefer to live instead of being put in the direct line of possible death due to overwhelming bureaucracy.
  2. The term is accurate in medical school. My daughter finished medical school and that is what she called it much to my surprise. As far as nursing school perhaps it's called the nursing instructors eat their young but at the same time I know that if one complains there is retaliation often in those programs. I'm sure other people can give examples. I remember an appalling situation at the VA hospital where we did our psychiatric nursing training and when I made a complaint about the treatment and Facilities I was told by one of the nursing school directors that because of my complaint we could lose our school privileges for that facility and then that would affect the nursing schools credentials and Licensing. I was point-blank threatened on that particular occasion because I had complained. Not to do with being questioned or pimped but something similar. Complaints are best done anonymously in that type of program
  3. You speak of affluent people in affluent areas as if they are the only ones who can be honor students. People from all walks of life can indeed overdose on drugs. Honor students don't need to be ashamed because they are honor students. Generally speaking it means they worked hard.
  4. What makes you think because someone is an honor student that they consider themselves high-and-mighty? I think generally speaking it's because they worked hard. That does not mean they cannot become involved with drugs but you sound as if you have a grudge against honor students
  5. The nurse explained that he is in a special class and has emotional issues so there is obviously something else going on so I don't think being so unempathetic is helpful in this situation either. Maybe finding out about his home life? Why his sleep is being disrupted? Or what is happening with him?
  6. Hoping to save $15,000 Hank brought his own scalpel to the gallbladder surgery...
  7. Lawyer Sam is hoping the litigation hex he performed earlier today will have the same fatal result as last week's in the ER!!
  8. I'm not sure it should be considered high and mighty to be an honor student which means someone probably worked pretty hard to get where they are so I'm not sure I understand why you think they are a schmuck.
  9. Certainly I do not know many people who would prefer to be bedridden or unable to live a normal life and be active instead of relying on others for simple care and complex care . Being independent instead of dependent on others is a far cry better than being a patient anywhere and I feel sorry for those people not envious. And that's the goal of healthcare --to hopefully help them get back to their activities of daily living at whatever level they can or at the least to offer Solace and comfort in their days of their lives. And if they can eventually recover that is the optimum goal so they don't have to lie around in bed all day which is extremely unhealthy in and of itself.
  10. People should open the video because she goes on to say of course anyone who is good at what they do and caring and kind regardless of their size is welcome in the healthcare profession.. No one should just automatically assume something they have not seen and say they are not going to open the video. It is an eye-opening video.
  11. I would go to the dialysis center without a thought for the other place since they hoodwinked you at best.
  12. I think any parent or caregiver who deliberately chooses to abuse a child or stand by while a child is abused should die. So don't worry about what I think of you, you are fine, therefore I would be in jail for murder, not just simple assault.
  13. We know today's atmosphere is far different than a few years back.. Hospitals are not necessarily the safe havens they once were. that being said I think it might be necessary for hospitals to put metal detectors at patient and family and visitor entrances where the doors open automatically.
