MI with No damage?
I'm working on cardiac care unit PRN now. I obviously need to further educate myself on MIs because I thought all MIs meant there was some kind of damage to the heart muscles. Can one have an MI eith absolutely no damage at all?

States accepting ISU...I'm posting the list here.
It is scary that so many states do not accept ISU! Geez, I can't wait to enroll in an LPN-RN/BSN program such as ISU, but I'm a little worried about ISU vs. Excelsiors BON acceptance!

New LPN, interested in/worried abour EXCELSIOR
I am NOT in cali, but I have a lot of family in CA and would consider moving in the future. ISU seems like a wonderful alternative except that there tuition seems higher then EC.

New LPN, interested in/worried abour EXCELSIOR
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do an internet based nursing program, and Excelsior seems good except that it is not accepted in CA, and 1 other state. Is it possible to take the NCLEX in one state, get licensed, then transfer your license to any state? such as CA? Thank you!

PRN job?

Another 'problems from the past backfiring' ?
I am finishing my pre-reqs for the nursing program at my school this semester. I just picked up the application yesterday, and read that if you have been treated for mental health problems or alcohol/drug dependency in the past 5 years this may disqualify you from the program. My mother died very unexpectedly in her early thirtys and i move out on my own. Had issues with depression and alcohol- and sought treatment. It has since been 3 years and I have my own child, and have worked hard to move forward. Is there anything I can do? Does HIPPA not protect me here?

Unaccredited?
Thanks for the input. Certainly doesn't sound like the way to go,...I am wanting to move to dallas, but nursing programs are WAYYY competitive and my GPA isn't 4.0. This is why I was looking for school around Dallas. If anyone knows of a school that isn't really competitive drop me a note! Gauge- i do plan on getting my RN-It would be my first choice actually! I am doing LPN first b/c I have type 1 diabetes, and will be loosing my health insurance before long. I need a back up plan to provide myself with insurance to pay this 600+ a month expense, I think getting my LPN is the best option as far as money goes.

Does DCCCCD offer an LPN program?
I know there RN program is next to impossible to get into, I am wondering if the requirements for LVN are just as stringent?

Does DCCCCD offer an LPN program?
I've just found the site with info on there LVN program- duh. Can anyone tell me how competative this program is?

Does DCCCCD offer an LPN program?
I requested information from here, and did not get anything specific to any nursing programs they offer-except the course cataloge. DiscoveryNursing.com said DCCCD did have an LVN and an RN program, but when I went to the website, the only information about an LVN program was an LVN-RN program. Hopefully someone will know if they offer both!

What was your gpa in when got into lpn school?
I decided to go the LPN route a week ago because I am anxious to start making money, and my advisor told me the LPN program is less competitive. my GPA is SLOWLY coming up from my first few semesters in college, so I was wondering what everyone elses GPA was when they got accepted? My school works on a point system too, so hopefully by the time my prereqs are out of the way, I'll be accepted. I still have to take a&p 2, and finite math- actually I can apply without taking the math, but I'm GUESSING that a&p2 is a must. My GPA is a 2.9 right now-I know I know! all of you 4.0 people are laughing! I'm aiming for a 3.0 by end of next semester.

Knock, knock, where are the A&P 1 students
Hey! I cant wait for a&p to be OVER! I am studing the brain right now-which I just about have down. I am so burned out of studying for anything at this point! The break before a&p 2 will be wonderful! Lacy

Compass Test
Thanks everyone for the useful information! I am so glad to hear that it is not timed, and most people could use a calculator! I began studying the algebra section last night-ugh! need to work on that a little before I call to schedule my exam. Nicolemy- you had a great idea to go and look over text at a book store- I would just be worried that I wasn't studying much relevant information. Who knows-maybe my books store will have a book specifically designed for this test. Thanks again. Lacy

Compass Test
I am planning to take this in a few weeks as part of my application to lpn school! Math scares the you know what out of me, and I just found this test-prep website online, but I am wondering....are you allowed to use a calculator???? Lacy

Drug Test Question
This will probably sound ridiculous...but here goes.. I have a job interview tomorrow to work for a hospital lab. I dont use drugs, but I have recently hung out with some folks that do smoke weed. I know the chance of coming up positive is low since I did not smoke, but PER CHANCE it DOES, will this effect me in the future when I need to do clinicals there for nursing?
