  1. No much requirements are needed. Just make sure you have your attested certificates with you. You will need to submit your application and wait for an interview call. You will be given a written exam and upon passing that will be called for an oral interview. The paper work after that will take a few more months before you actually join.{ This info is for ministry of health} Are you from india? A group from kuwait ministry of health had been to mumbai recently for conducting interviews. That would have been the most ideal way to get into nursing here.
  2. so does this mean no visa numbers will be issued and no interview dates will be given yet?
  3. I too am in the same condition. I just had my interview cancelled in august due to unavailibity of visas and am due in the first week of october. But my agent has reassured me that there is going to be no problem, I can have my medical done, without going through the xrays and immunizations, ie, if and when i get a interview date; and the baby can still travel on my visa. But i guess, I will have to go there after my delivery:balloons: to stamp on babys passport; not sure of that.
  4. Just received a disappointing message from the consular section. My interview appointment schedulded for the 2oth of august has been cancelled since no visa numbers are available
  5. whens your interview? I have an interview on august 20th and am wondering whether to go ahead with my medicals or not. I have already applied for my PCC in india and kuwait
  6. will this affect even those who already have a interview date??? Should we really proceed with our medicals?
  7. I have a strange problem. I have a interview schedulded in the month of august, but right now I am pregnant and expect to deliver in october. If by chance i happen to get a visa after my august interview and the retrogression starts again in september, What will happen to my newborns green card? Will the baby alone be affected by retrogression? Please, please do reply, If you know the answer to this???
  8. yes, they told me they cannot schedule me for an interview because of my PD. They gave me the packet 4, but they asked me not to proceed with the medical and police clearance formalities until further informed{as the medical expires in 3 months}
  9. Well, I feel so depressed! Just collected my packet 4 on the 29th of oct and they regretted to inform me that my priority date fell on oct 3rd. Just two days are going to change everything for me
  10. I am also scared because they are holding my RN and Visascreening certificate. If at all they refuse to give it back to me, can i get another one with just the RN number ?
  11. Hello, I am desperately in need of help and advice. I signed a contract with OGP almost 2 years ago. They sponsered me for NCLEX last year and i passed in the month of august 2005. I have also done my cgfns and ielts independently. My file right now is in NVC and will probably reach the embassy in the next 1-2 weeks. My problem is that my agent is now demanding that i sign an amendment to the original contract in order to proceed. They havent placed me in any hospital yet. According to the amendment, my cancellation fees is going to exceed 45000$ and they also want the spouse to sign as the guarantatoer for that money. It also states that in case of breech i will even pay form their attorney and other legal expenses. The cancellation fee in the initial contract was $20000 after reaching america and $8000 for breech before reaching there. I feel totally trapped. Is there anyone who can advice me???
  12. This happened when i was still a student nurse doing my first ever night duty. I was in a male orthopedic unit and I started taking bed rounds to check on the patients. It so happened that at that very moment there was this patient who was dreaming about a thief trying to break into his house. All of a sudden he clutched my hand tightly and screamed at the top of his voice....thief, thief, thief..... I was so shocked and scared that i too started screaming along..... Both our voices were enough to awaken t he entire unit and also the neighbouring unit. If there had been a heart patient there, i am sure he would have a immediate cardiac arrest that day.
  13. I went to the ER one day from my surgical unit, to help in translating the patients complaints to the doctor who didnt know the local language. Here's a part of my conversation with the9 year old patients father: So whats wrong with your son? "He has stomach pain and constipation, hasnt been to the bathroom since a week" While I am busy translating this to the doctor, the man interrupts me saying, "Actually, I know the reason for his constipation; You know what; when he was a young boy of 5, I caught him in the farm one day eating a mango which I had forbidden him to. In a rage, i slapped him in the face, and as a result, he ended up swallowing the mango along with the seed. I am sure, that seed is now blocking the pathway to his stool. Tell the doctor to remove that mango, and i am sure his constipation and pain will disappear" At this point, he clutched his son and began crying, saying sorry to his son.
  14. Hi, I think I would continue bettyhoops record, as I joined ogp in nov 2004, passed NCLEX on july 30th, filed for 1-140 in aug 2005 and am still waiting for an approval to come. No job offers yet. Whenever I ask, they just reply saying they cannot place a person until the approval arrives, and as for now, i am still a long way from travelling. Ofcourse its the same old ogp again, I wonder sometimes if i have to remind them that they promised to have us start our assignment in 18 months time. Its just taking forever
  15. I think i face the same worries as that of kersti. I am just waiting for my greencard approval, do not exactly know which state I will be working in {I requested Oklahoma-in psychiatric setup}, my husband has always been a travel agent all his life, has the specific IATA qualifications....and we are worried as well as thrilled to be moving. My agent is ogp too
  16. how long did it take to get it approved? I am presently working in kuwait, finished all my exams and visa screening, applied for a green card in sept-oct 2005, and still awaiting the approval. Can anybody tell me how long does it normally take?

  18. I am an indian, working in kuwait for the past 5 years, have passed my RN , CGFNS and IELTS, got my visa screening done and am on my way; hopefully soon, to USA
  19. Hi, I hope to reach usa by june next year. I just completed my RN and IELTS and CGFNS and got visa screen certified. I have my BSN degree from India. I hope to be working somewhere in the northeast when i get there. And furthermore to continue my nursing education. Teaching in a nursing school or perhaps administration are my area of interests. I would like to know, if i can directly start applying and go to some correspondence school when i reach there or would i need to go some other form of training before i can appkly.
  20. I am a BSN working in kuwait presently and will be moving to USA soon. Here in kuwait i have been working in a government run psychiatric facilily with over a 1000 beds, mainly in accute admission wards. Have been wondering, whether i could directly get into psychiatric nursing when i get into US or will i have to work as a general nurse first, study some courses and then go into psych nursing? (I have already passed the NCLEX RN exam) ambitious nurse
