Hi All, I work in an EP lab. We have about 6-7 doctors who regularly perform the same procedures. We have a preference book to catalog each doctor for each procedure they perform. But it is always being updated. I'm looking for something electronic that can be updated by anyone in our lab when preferences change. It would be nice to just pull up an app, and have up to date info. Does anyone have anything their OR/Lab is using like this?

I'm 35 with three kids and married, and have been thinking about it too. If you want it go for it! I know I'll be doing it when I'm ready.

Your commute will be less than an hour. I went to GCC for my nursing program and loved it. My professors were really great! The convenience of having the program the really fits your schedule will outweigh the commute.

Hi... Just wanted to let you know I'm also working my first hospital job on a progressive care unit. I've been on almost a year. There are times that I still feel like I don't have it all together. But when ever I'm unsure of things I consult with my coworkers and my charge. Don't be afraid to ask questions. It will get better and easier the more you work! Good luck!

I hear the prisons pay pretty decent, and if you're willing to work A LOT of overtime you could make a good amount of money. I'm not sure about the stress level there though.

1 I no longer fit into my board shorts 2 it's time to start exercising again 3. I'm starting to not feel anxious every time I go to work. (4 months in on my first hospital job) 4 only missing one question on my ECG competency test feels really good.

I learned that: a caring, companionate, helpful floor manager is invaluable. My coworkers are awesome😊. Being a nurse is hard. Yes... I'm new on the hospital scene.

I just want to say I understand a lot of what you're feeling. I'm a newish nurse too, working at a hospital for the first time after being a nurse for 2 years. Sometimes I just feel very overwhelmed. But I hear it gets easier :) we'll just have to keep at it till it does.

I took well over 200 questions and passed. Just be patient and relax till you have your results. At this point you can't do anything about it till you know your results. No sense in worrying yourself to death. Good luck!

I have a bachelors degree in another unrelated field, and an ADN in nursing. No one seems to care about my non nursing degree... And yep... I'm headed back to school for my BSN.

I'm starting my first job in a hospital this week too! I've very nervous and very excited...so you're not alone. Just wanted to let you know I'm having a lot of your same feelings. I've found that reviewing some skills, by watching YouTube videos, and going over some of the things I struggled with in nursing school is helping me to feel more confident. Good luck to you! I graduated from the GCC weekend program and loved it. They have some pretty amazing instructors there. Good luck with where ever you end up. I did t know you're allowed to switch programs in between blocks.

I've been working as a substitute school nurse for the past 2 years. On occasion I sub for a "health tech". They "let" me "work" below my license because they are not real titles, and because then they can pay me less... and we essentially do the same job. Even the office staff is allowed to pass meds after they take a small orientation on it. The new grad situation in my state is very tough, so I took what I could get. As long as you get very clear instructions of what your scope is I think you'll be ok. I have a harder time with the health techs who call themselves nurses. You're an RN, and think you could say so if asked. No one ever addresses me as "nurse Sara" at school. But I have been asked if I'm an RN. I've been told that our district doesn't have any legal responsibility to provide a nurse. They could employ all health techs. They provide some nurses as a courtesy.
