  1. Hello there, The program is going great! I really enjoy the rigor of the content and I am learning so much. I feel as though I am getting a solid education and I am so glad I chose this program! If you have any questions about the program please feel free to ask ?.
  2. Two things - The Oats Overnight Shake and Probar-Meal-Variety-Pack My husband got me both of these because I was skipping all meals and was ravenous by the time I got home. The Oats Overnight are kind of like a drinkable oatmeal with crunchy/chewy add ins for texture. Delicious, keeps you full all day, and can be consumed in minutes if your crushed for time. The serving size gives you pretty good nutrition, 290ish calories, 20 grams of vegetarian protein from peas, fiber, and superfood add ins like maca, seeds, and cacao nibs. I recommend trying a variety of flavors because the ones I thought I wouldn’t like ended up being my favorite! The Promeal Bars are incredible. They are so delicious! Soft & chewy. Get the variety pack and have a new flavor experience each shift. Incredible nutrition: 350-450 calories, 10 ish grams of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. They also have super food add ins like seeds, greens, and fruit. A few other favs for me are verb energy bars, but they are too pricy and sometimes I don’t get a break until late in the day when I no longer want caffeine. I drink Lyfe Fuel every day and have way more energy through the day and have noticed clearer skin and better mood. It is not the tastiest though.
  3. Hello everyone, I have been accepted into the GCU online Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program for January 2020. Is there anyone else in here planning on attending as well? I am so excited!
  4. Babies! Awe, their just so cute. Once people actually take their OB class they either change their mind or realize that's what they're made for. In my class most people changed their minds when they realized what they were getting into.
  5. You can do it! Working full time minimum wage will leave you with enough money for a couple months - save it! Have you considered being a patient care person on weekends? You make $20/hr and get hands on practice with patients, it's great!
  6. I actually really like the ATI (don't shoot me, lol!) Yes, it may be hard but read the books and do the practice exams. Read every single rationale in the practice exams and write down the ones you miss or don't completely understand. ATI is statistically proven to be better than hesi and Kaplan, so try and make lemonade out of those lemons!
  7. My program feels like a family - we argue and joke like brothers and sisters. You love/hate each other because you're basically spending 40-60 hours a week together. I have a great group, everyone is so serious about studying we focus on that more than the drama.
  8. Sounds like things are going well! Your clinicals sound very interesting. Enjoy your weekend off with your family, but don't forget to study for that ATI! :-D

Maybe discuss it with your program director or ADN, they can probably give you the best advice! I say go for it, study your pants off. You can miss 20 whole questions, which if you know your stuff isn't too bad. You got this.
  10. I say utilize your post conference at the end of each clinical day and debrief with your peers. So many times after a patient dies it has consoled me to talk out out. It's okay to cry and shows how compassionate you are.
  11. So far, in my class we have lost students for: 1.) Cell phones at clinical sites 2.) One failed drug test 3.) Pregnancy 4.) Disruptive behavior 5.) Failed grades (the majority) I hope that helps!
