  1. I just started my classes this past November. I'm working on all the extra classes such as diversity, statistics, ethics etc. When I'm done with those classes I' ll finally be ready to start my nursing classes until early 2017. Thanks for the great pointers ladies.
  2. How is it going ? I'm in the same boat. I came from a Rehab at a SNF.
  3. I went in for an interview. I checked and the job was removed from the website the next day. They emailed me that following Monday for my references ( I went in for the interview on a Friday).
  4. I realized that I took my break before I hit 75 questions ( I didn't realize I had to wait lol) the computer shut off at 75 questions which took me about 2 hours. My results were on hold for 48 hours. When I got my results I PASSED !:bowingpur:bowingpur:bowingpur:balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons:
  5. oh no!!! I got the same message ( that my results is on hold) I didnt brain dump but I had a ABG question and I wrote the normal values on the board to help me remember the normal values and that was it, nothing els on the who ite board. PLease someone, what now? What is this flagging. I never heard of it. Did I do something wrong? My computer shut off at 75 questions- 2 hours
  6. I paid for all of of my pre req classes in cash but for my nursing classes i took out a loan. I'm attending a community college so the tuition is a lot of cheaper. So i will be graduating oweing only $7500 for my ADN.
  7. Congrats Misty get ready to work hard. You will love it though:nurse: YOu must have been so excited when you received your letter:yeah::yeah:
  8. thats great Queenbo:up:!!! Congrats on your graduation:yeah:. I am a Senior in the program at Massasoit this Fall and have 2 more semesters to go for the completion of my RN degree. Wow I have to say that time flies and I forgot that I even posted this msg lol:lol2: Maybe you'll come to Massasoit for your RN?
  9. I dont think that it's just not right because I think of those students that failed by 1 or 2 points and some prof refuse to change the grade for them.
  10. Queenbo, how are you doing? when will you be graduating? I saw that you posted last year that you were excepted into Blue Hills . thanks for the update
  11. What was on the test? Math, Eng,Chemistry, A&P etc?
  12. Massasoit College, Brockton, Ma:specs:, Good Nrs program
  13. I feel the same and I've been working since I was in High shool. I worked full-time while taking my evening pre-req classes these past 2 years. I cant even imagine not working while in school. I start nursing school Sep 8 and I'm starting a new job next week per-diem as a Nursing Assistant. I plan on working twice a week on the Eve shift (3:45pm-12:15 am:yawn:). I will have 5 days to do my school work and to study. If I do get everwhelmed then I can cut back to one day. I work out of the Nursing office so I choose my hours:up: Like others have mentioned this job will help me have something other than Nursing in my my life. It will help me get some extra money (I just gave up my full-time job) and I will gain valuable experience working with patients :nurse:
  14. My school snail mailed us a letter that told us that we need to read a few chapters before classes start on 8 Sep. So I got started a little early. I'm also starting a new Nursing assistant job next week. The great thing is that I get to choose when I want to work:up: and I know if I work during the week then I'll be working Eve shifts x2 a week (3:45pm-12:15pm:yawn: at this time if the floor is quiet later in the eve then I might get some studying in ). I look at it this way, I will have 5 days a week to do all my school work:specs: and the benefit of working at this job is that it will help me get some extra money (I just left my full-time job) and I will gain some valuable experience. Does anyone have any advice about working and how set priorities with school work?
  15. Whoooooooooooooo YESSSS im soo happy for you Congratsss for being accepted.:dancgrp:
  16. I had the same question last year. I looked at what the 2 programs cost and an (ADN) RN degree is about $10 000 at my community college and an LPN degree is $11 000. I decided to save some money and go for my RN. I'm happy to say I'm starting Nursing school in 2 weeks.I would say go directly for your RN it saves you time and money
  17. Same here I start my ADN on Sept 8 here in Boston and I'll be starting a new per-diem Nursing Assistant job (2 evenings a week) as well. I plan on working through NS. I'm very nervous and I hope and pray that I will be able to study and use my time wisely while working. I definately plan on getting a recorder for my lectures. Two years of Evening classes and here I am, ready to start Nursing school. Here we go CLASS OF 2011 !!!!:stdnrsrck:
  18. After taking evening classes for the past 2 years and I can finally say that I will be starting in the Fall 2009 semester 8 Sept for my ADN at Massasoit Community College,MA and I'm happy that I'm an official NURSING STUDENT:nurse: I'm excited :monkeydance:and feel sick to my stomach and scared to death at the same time. I met all the deadlines with my required paperwork (immunization forms etc) I have my uniform (x2) Nametags My Littman stethoscope, bandage scissors Watch Looking around for a good blood pressure cuff. And I'm waiting 4 my school to send me the list of the required nursing books for this fall . A month and a half to go
  19. Hi Im not a Lpn I have a question for the graduated Nurses. I will be starting the Nursing Full-time program this Fall 2009. I completed all my pre-reqs and co-eqs(working on 1 more) so I will only have Nursing Classes during my 4 semesters. I'm transfering in from another school so I dont know much about this school's nursing program (other than hearing from some people on this site , saying that its good) I am currently taking Human Growth and Dev and then i'll have a month off from school. I worked full time while taking evening classes for about 2 years I worked hard at my classes. And I was thrilled when I was accepted into Massasoits RN program, but I have a terrible fear of failure and not completing this program, especially when I hear how people fail out of the Nursing programs:o So do you guys have any advice and tips for this New Nursing student?
  20. what is the pax?
  21. wow i had to take the Teas before I was accepted into my program. We took this test for FREE and I never heard of people getting charged for it .I cant beleive you have to pay that much money to take the test. Some schools accept results from other schools because the results are also available online for the school and student(my friend used her TEAS test results when she took it at another school when she applied to my school and the school accepted it). Maybe you can test somewhere els.
  22. I had the same problem when I started taking classes. When started classes I wanted to be a Rad tech ( I was interested in being a MRI tech )and I remember that i have even said that I never want to be a nursing student due to the thick books that I've seen students with, way too much work lol. But as time went by realised that I could'nt just stand all day and do the same things again and again as a Rad Tech , Ill get bored too quick. So I had to evaluate my career choice. At this time I started taking A&P and I absolutely loved the Human Body and its functions and I found myself looking at Respiratory Therapy (I even shadowed a therapist) but I realised that I would only work with the Resp System and I wanted to be able to work with entire body (if that makes any sense) lol. I then decided to talk to Pre- Nursing students about Nursing and I found myself hooked to nursing and now I am starting the program this Fall. Im scared to death about failure, because I want to do well and now I finally know what I want , I want to be a Nurse. Definitely do some investigating before you get into a program. I suggest you to do some research, find Rad tech forums like , call Hospitals to see if you can shadow someone. And remember it doesnt matter how hard the program is but if it's something that you really want then you'll work your way through it. I wish you the best
  23. Congrats :pntrghi:you deserve it :dncgbby::dncgcpd:
