Im just not sure what to do.
I dont have any kids. I just got married in may. My DH and I work at Frischs a resturant. I make 8.35/hr and he makes 9.10/hr. I also make just a little to much for foodstamps. Together me and him make almost 30,000 a yr. I am also tired of being broke. I think i will see about getting my CNA certificate and then go straight for RN. I also worry about the wait list for nursing school. BUT i havent even started my pre reqs yet so i have time to see what happens. :)

What is being a nurse?
I am not a nurse yet. I am only just beginning my pre-reqs in school! I think that is awesome you spent time with your patient like that. I want to be like that with my patients in the future! I want to be a nurse to help people and make them feel comfortable and do what I can to make them happy. I remember a couple yrs ago my mom had surgery done. I cant exactly remember what she had done. She has had alot of surgerys.. but she kept saying she was in so much pain after the surgery and her nurse just kept telling my mom how big of a baby she was being. My mom started crying from all the pain and all the nurse would do is tell her to wipe off her tears and quit being such a baby! I was so mad. They later found out there was something wrong with her catheter and that was causing the pain! If the nurse would have took the time to listen to my mom and understand that she really was hurting instead of calling her a baby they would have found the problem hours earlier!! So I appreciate you being so caring! :)

Im just not sure what to do.
that is true! lol thank you thank you everyone. I feel alot better about going for RN and not wasting the time and money. I also worried that I would put getting my RN off alot longer if I got my LPN. Im glad i found this website. Very helpful!!:)

thank you both so much. I was also thinking why waste the time getting my LPN when I can just get RN in about the same amount of time! I am going to stick with my original thoughts and just go for my RN! thank you both again!

Im just not sure what to do.
I am 21 yrs old and I am getting ready to start my pre-reqs in sept. I am so undecided about what I should do. Should I get LPN or just go for RN. My friend said she is going to get her LPN then get a job and then go back for her RN. That way she'll start making better money faster. I was just going to go for my RN but then I started thinking what if I cant get a job because of no experience or something. I just feel like I dont know much about this and any advice would be appreciated. So which would be better? LPN to RN or just RN
