  2. wife is currently picking up some per diem . Because she has been getting cancelled 1 day per week. Her Per Diem has dried up the last 2-3 weeks. She covers the Phoenix area. She was told things are drying up fast
  3. I agree the merger hasnt seem to jell. Was told when merger took place that MSN had big money backing and things would defintely benefit the nurses!! UHHHHHHHHHHHH NOT!!:nono:
  4. The recent changes in benefits?? No matching 401k . eliminating of irewards program ?? Anyone else seeing changes in Benefits?? Gonna jump ship??
  5. We have had it both ways........our recruiter told us they didnt have anything in the location we sought. Wife called the hospital and spoke with nurse manager ans manager so so excited to hear from her. They arent putting out request, they just want the people back who worked there before. Kinda weird! She received the postion and has since extended to April. BTW we are with intelistaff as well cosmicmama.... Pm me we can talk about some things!! lol
  6. Wife's recruiter we can seldom get on the phone. She is on the phone constantly looking for and taking care of others. So we email her and tell her to Call as soon as she is off the phone. She calls within 5 minutes. They are more responsive to emails since they can multi task. My .02 cents worth
  7. my nick says it all!! lol

Considering this is the holiday weekend.(nurses, hospitals work not THE COMPANY:bowingpur) The powers to be may not be available to get this resolved. I would give them till at least Tuesday...:banghead: My .02 cents

Call and talk to your recruiter. Contract should be binding . If you should agree to a change a new contract should be in order. My wife had contracted stating she need particular days off. When she arrived she was scheduled to work. She called her recruiter and got the issue resolved that day. I hope this helps
  10. We went the Rv route. Take housing stipend in our minds we let them pay for motorhome . When we retire we have an investment . Which we could sell at a later time. Housing stipend is enough to cover RV loan and campground fees. Just a thoguht
  11. Heck you let them grab the couch !! lol....We have seen it vary from $75 to $300 for a 2 bedroom upgrade.
  12. Here a few websights that I have used traveling purposes as well as questions regarding Rv'ing Couple of interesting websight for the RV'ers RV Forum
  13. Why we love the motorhome!! Just shut the door and drive!! lol
  14. I should made the statement that we also RV .So housing isnt an issue
  15. It can sometime be selctive. Being you can have more stipend less wage and vise versus.... We took low hrly and recieved 3250 Stipend We are in the Santa Rosa Area

We let our Rv dealer work with the banks. We ended up with Bank West. I hope this helps
  17. We have done both FL and AZ. We will be going back to Az for the second time. We love it there. We travel in a motorhome and parking in FL during the winter is getting more difficult.
  18. Thus far most campground we have stayed are relatively quite during the day , screaming kids not much until weekend event then no so much . We live in a Class A motorhome and the bedroom closes off from rest of the home. The wife will run a fan in the bedroom while she sleeps :zzzzz to drown out the noise. Like your hushand I am retired and on top of that I have a hearing loss so the TV is ALWAYS TOO LOUD:heartbeat. lol Thats when we came up with the fan as background noise and works great!!
  19. Never mind that Joe I found your other thread. Told you I was slow.
  20. Sorry Joe I am a little slow this morning....where is your question? I can't seem to see it.
  21. Well for me as the SO ...I play golf, drink beer , cook dinner care for the motorhome etc. YES in that order!! lol
  22. Karen G YOu spoke of stats. Let you not forget that it is sometime cost efficent for a hospital to hire travel. Often the postions are only for temporary inflex of patients. Like Az , Fl in the winter. Then the snowbirds head back North. So would it be wise for a hospital to hire fulltime nurse for this time period?? I think not. Also the hospital doesn't have the overhead of Benefits for travelers. If you could or would waive your Benies you could make more per hr. So the cost is level. I am sure as nurse and your not an account that you don't actually know the true bottom dollar. my .02 worth!! lol
  23. We had no problems finding a place for our 65 lb lab. It isnt like the facility has a scale that they come weigh your dog!! lol "You have a dog" yes we do "How much does it weigh" I dont know maybe 25 lbs??!! lol "OH OK "
  24. We were charged 500 pet deposit by the travel company. However we spoke to various neighbors and they said they never put any deposit down. So we went to the office and sure enough they dont require any Pet deposit. We promptly called out recruiter and she said it is common policy with the housing department to charge the fee. Were told that it goes into a large pool of money so when they have an occurence they just pull from the pool of cash. I told them like H%%% they do and I demanded our money back which they refunded immeditely.
  25. They have started a recruit teams instead of indivual recruiter. Which we dont care for. We have had to resend several documents because they say they never receive them. So we started sending them via scanned and email attachement directly to recruiter. NO problem since. They have treated us very well!! Love that they pay housing stipend at beginning of assignment instad of the other company we worked for paid at the end on the month
