  3. What it's like to wake up during surgery

I've always had a tolerance to anesthesia. I woke up once...sat straight up however, it wasn't noticed right away. Here's what I experienced. The thing I remember the most is seeing those bright OR lights and seeing people in crinkly, blue, paper out...
  4. A Chance At The Game Called Life

When I was born, doctors said I wouldn't live to see 6 months. Dead before I had a chance to live. My mother was going through all the efforts associated with birth. So far, everything was going all right. Mom was going to welcome a beautiful, healt...
  5. Night Shift PDNs....

Hmmm....I know that we are just fine with the nurses using our WiFi. Sitting there in a quiet house when everyone else is sleeping, there's barely any sound except from the white noise of a vent, fighting against your body's natural sleepy-time rhyth...

  12. Well, don't come back

Mmmm....that's not cool! For us, if a nurse had swapped shifts and something came up and the other nurse couldn't make it, well....that was it. We dealt with it all by ourselves. Sometimes, ya gotta give a little to get a little. :)
  13. "Wasteful Nurses"

I don't mind what my nurses do, just as long as they can hear me and are able to help me if I need it. I also believe that it's okay for there to be a comfy chair or whatnot to sit on. That's a pretty long time to be uncomfortable.
