  1. Depends on what area you live in
  2. There are classes on charting offered through some state boards and regulation boards. The classes are very helpful as to what not to chart.
  3. Home care or phone triage for clinics? Try to work until 67 for max social security
  4. That last part looks bad on the clinic. The statement of taking care of it while on the phone should have been left out of the chart
  5. About once a month. Same for floating
  6. OT and prn staff first then goes on a date basis for turns( everyone is subject to it)
  7. All shifts are responsible not just nights.
  8. Check your state. If you passed, you should have a license number
  9. My question is what they do for job function in acute or sub acute care
  10. I worked one in AZ. You stayed with a buddy until training. It was back logged back then
  11. It takes months to get into shape for that. They tell you to train for it. I did it and saw some really obese but in shape people have great times. If you go over max time limit, they give one repeat chance. Fail that, you get flown home and job revoked. You can be working 4 months before you go, but if you fail, no more job.
  12. What are MAs doing in the hospital?
  13. Yeah you stay there the whole time. There is a rigorous physical test there the first or second day. Running, obstacles course, stairs with wearing a weighted vest, dummy drag. All of it is timed. Get in shape or no job.
  14. I did. Mostly male dominated throughout. There are 88 agencies training at the same location. Some are there for months while BOP is only 3 weeks. You stay in a dorm and eat chow hall food. If you miss the bus, big trouble too.
  15. It does matter if not honorable. Why can't you ask for a medical separation from service? Air force and army have been using PT fails for five years to downsize. Some get the less than honorable discharge and some get early separation. If you can, talk to command about the early separation
  16. Texas and more west pay significant more and cost less to live. I moved out east for other reasons and now suffer financially. West coast is different with a much different business model than east coast.
  17. Talk to the state board. Are you failing because you have trouble with English, test anxiety, or actual comprehension of the questions? The first are easy fixes before testing. The third, you can do a refresher or study more nclex books.
  18. Yep. Shot gun rifle and pistol
  19. I worked full time and online BSN completion program. It was not hard to do. It was a tough state school program too not a degree mill school. You can list sub acute skills as med surg skills. You do get copd MIs wounds and such right?
  20. It varies. All echarting. There is a boot camp like training for three weeks with weapons training.
  21. There are very few there
  22. Do you have family to adjust time for or live alone? If alone sleep 8 hours with black out curtains or foil in the window. If family, you may have to do broken sleep schedules.
  23. We don't get overtime no matter how short
  24. You can work and go to school. PCC has plenty of students who have kids and work full time. I worked weekend doubles the whole time.
