Can I still be a great nurse without prior CNA experience?
The experience of a CNA makes all the difference, just like it does with an RN.

I think it also depends on where a CNA has worked. In a LTC facility they may have an leg up with basic ADL care. If they are from a hospital and has yrs experience working in an IMC, ER, or Med-Surg unit they will have a leg up on way more than ADL care. Those are the CNAs that may spot a change in a patient when a RN is too busy.

CNA's Are Tired Of Laziness
CNAs get paid minimum wage in some states. Take that into account when reading all of the Task that they do. When the issue of patient to staff ratio comes up they are most likely referring to RNs. I don't believe there is a cap for CNAs. It cost $1000s a month for a family to place their loved ones in a nursing home. Bet they are not told that grandpa has to share an LPN with 50+ patients and a CNA with 25+ patients.

Covid and Hospitals: How are things now?
Some reflection. Just thinking about that thread which mentions how a patient refusing her immune compromise husband to be treated by an unvaccinated nurse, despite that nurse properly wearing PPE. Now nurses are allowed to work while COVID positive if they are vaccinated. Oh the future dilemmas now.
