  1. I thought I was the only one having these issues! What an absolute shame. I am allowed to wear a cloth mask underneath surgical, but my skin is so sensitive.
  2. I have eczema and haven’t had a flare up in a few years until I was required to wear the surgical masks at work. My lips and chin were inflamed, pink, and just overall painful. My facility will allow me to wear a cloth mask underneath the surgical, which does help. I have used topical steroid crepe which helps too. Do any of my fellow nurses have remedies for similar situations? TIA
  3. thanks! I have these numbers. No need to be rude. I thought this was an open discussion. I do not feel like this is an open environment and will no longer participate.
  4. My docs are good people but I think they do what administrators tell them. I know this practice is highly illegal but it’s still very prevalent. What I wanted to point out is that it’s an issue. That’s all. How it affects the numbers, I don’t know.
  5. Not sure if this has been mentioned or how it fits in, but I feel that this is worth mentioning. I have worked at the bedside this ENTIRE time. I have taken care of Covid + patients. I have also had MANY physicians tell me they have listed the cause of death of a patient as COVID, even if the pt came in with a CVA or STEMI or some other health issue because it would get the facility the maximum reimbursement for the patient. Has anyone had this same experience? I think its a fair argument to question the validity of the numbers in general whether they are too hight or too low.
  6. I found my current RN job (and I'm a New Grad!) through CL and had success with all of the RN positions I applied to through there. I just made sure to remove my address when I submitted my resume and cover letter, I was not comfortable leaving them on there. I was contacted through email to schedule interviews. Good luck and give it a try, like with anything, be careful and use your common sense!
  7. I chose BSN for the exclusive reason that more and more hospitals in my area are going to MAGNET Status. With that being said, It made more sense for me to complete a BSN. Also, the BSN program accepted me and the ADN did not!
  8. I am the type of person who needed to do something the day before the exam so completed 100 Kaplan questions and made sure I knew all of the normal ranges for lab values. Needless to say, I didnt need any of that info for my exam but I needed the piece of mind to know that I did something instead of doing nothing the day before. I passed NCLEX RN on the first try with 75 questions. I took a long walk home from the testing site. The worst part of the waiting process wasnt even right after the exam. I was so mentally drained that I couldnt even think anymore. It was the next 24 hours that were the worst for me.
