  1. I don't plan to read the whole chapter. I did the module on TPR. It took a few hours and I still have to take the test. I will probably use the chapter during the test.
  2. Oh thank god! Because I am feeling really stupid right now! Lol!
  3. Hey guys! Anyone else reading the book and going cross eyed? Anyone else a little nervous about the test on the 22? Just wanted to know if I was alone in this.
  4. We had orientation this week and got the hw smack down too lol! Bye bye freedom!
  5. We had this prevet student that used to come in to observe surgery at the animal hospital all the time. He would faint regularly!! I would tell him you have to sit if you feel it coming on. Well one day he fell right over and took out the anesthesia hoses connected to the patient and busted his tooth on the vaporizer. There was blood everywhere!! Doc said forget about him(as we all looked on in horror) and hook my patient back up. Lol!! Needless to say he could no longer observe surgery. Most people that have fainted in the or have gone on to be super docs and techs:)
  6. I finished my prereqs with a 4.0 but I only took two classes at a time. I have a two year old and I work part time. I'm not really good when it comes to writing paper so I don't expect a 4.0. I will work as hard as I did for my prereqs and I hope that will give me passing grades!
  7. Did anyone get their uniforms yet?
  8. What comes in the package fundamentals package? I found the text and study guide package on amazon. not the same thing?
  9. Ok have to throw this in there. What is with those stupid emesis trays?!!! They tried to give me one in L&D and I was like bring me a damn trash can lol!!
  10. Oh believe me I am by no means looking for an easy way out! Lol! I just want to know what the expectation for myself should be. I am also a reader but I don't want to get needlessly frustrated if I can't keep up. If I know other students indeed where able to read everything then I know it is a realistic goal for me:)
  11. In my prereqs I read and outlined every chapter. I just want to know if that way of studying will work or not. It is very time consuming. Does anyone have a better way? I don't mind reading but I just don't want to feel overwhelmed if the truth is no one can read that much!
  12. I have a ton of respect for the single parents doing it all by themselves!! I have a two year old and she will be watching more tv then I would like while in school:( I know it will be tough but I'm doing this for her and it will hopefully payoff in the end.
  13. I don't think we do any iv cath or blood draws here. They make you learn all that stuff on the job:/
  14. We have summers off but of course if you want to shorten the amount of time spent in prereqs you take summer classes!
  15. Anyone have a CPR class this weekend?
  16. I think the whole thing is bull. I don't think the students ever expected the test to be exactly like the test bank!! Geez they where just looking for supplemental learning material. I think all the tests I've taken in prerequisites where made by the teacher not from a test bank. The students should just have to take a new test and move on. Cheating to me would be copying or purchasing papers ect. The site looks like a place to get study material to me. I myself am always looking for supp study material. Like you tube, khan academy ect.
  17. Hospitals in my area require a BSN.
  18. I just had my nursing advisement and my advisor said only 70 qualified students where accepted into the program this year. usually there are 100+
  19. hey ash I'm creeping on you on Facebook we may have some mutual friends lol! Ill pm you with my name
  20. I would bet people went back to work after unemployment ran out and less people are attending school. Plus there are no jobs for nurses currently so that may scare people away.
  21. Ashle don't you have kids? It would be nice to have someone to study with who has kids because my 2yo is going to be very lonely while I study!!
  22. What classes did you guys pick for fall? I picked nursing I on friday6:45-1, mon 1-5:35 and nursing I lab on wen 745-1045. doesn't look like as many people where excepted this year. advisor told me only 70 this year?
  23. Go to khan academy. Great resource for improving your math and sciences!! Also make sure you sign into your evolve account and get your hesi remediation! good luck!
  24. everyday!! lol!
  25. I agree with the above poster that they use the teas/ hesi to determine how well you will score on the NCLEX. The school must maintain a minimum amount of students a year that pass the NCLEX or they will lose their accreditation. Our school had a night program for nurses and they were all failing the NCLEX so they had to stop offering night courses or risk losing their accreditation. Study hard and you will get it next time! Good luck!
