  1. This is so easy to answer. You need your undergrad (which is BSN) so that you could apply fot CRNA which is an MSN degree. Unless there are bridge programs that you can obtain BSN while in CRNA program. All physicians needed to take there undergrad as well before they get eligible to apply for medical school.
  2. Thank you for this! I was looking into that CRNFA thing and it is expensive and not much info. May I know what program did you go to for your RNFA?
  3. What kind of RNFA did you do? Did you take thr CRNFA test? If so, is it necessary?
  4. There is also a route to be a surgical assistant if you are mainly interested in doing surgeries that you could look up.
  5. I have ANCC as well. What category did you use to renew your ANCC cert? Were you able to use category 7 even you are in surgery?
  6. Actually I was meaning to ask you this Dodongo not Alicia. "Do you have ANCC or AANP for your certification?" Because I know with ANCC it is kinda hectic to renew your the certification if you are in another specialty other than your license.
  7. If your home address is in a community or a new location sometimes it can not be found at times but there should be an "ignore" choice to get through and that should not be a problem.
  8. Are you gonna be in a specialty area? You mentioned psych meds. Are you PMHNP? To answer your question about CAQH, it is not hard. It's like filling up a CV. You have to know your licenses #, NPI, medicare #, medical malpracrice insurance, references, etc. Now, the medical malpractice insurance should be provided by the company. If not, this is going to be expensive for you and may be better off to find somebody who is willing to give you insurances.
  9. $100/hr? What kind of job is this? Full time with benefits?
  10. Hi Alicia777, Do you have ANCC or AANP for your certification?
  11. Hello, I was offered that kind of shift and there was a catch. No PTOs. Is this the case for you as well? So meaning I can't have a vacation longer than a week!
  12. I am an FNP too. If I could just take back time I would have done AGNP since I don't want to see peds anyway. I could have save time and money.
  13. Well, go work in Afghanistan then.
  14. TraumaRUS, what setting are you working?
  15. No, this should be the employer's responsibility.
  16. Hey EJN. I just graduated with south and I know we are close in our program. When will you graduate? Are you studying for the boards yet?
  17. I just graduated at South on their FNP program. What do you mean no direction? You can always your faculty if you have any questions. They are ways there for you if you are needing help.
  18. Correctme if I amwrong. I am also new tothis and currently in FNP program. But this is what consensus model is all about right?
  19. Did somebody think that a higher education is easier? Really? Try doctorate also it might be easier than ADN.
  20. Thats like nursing home n-p ratio.
  21. JMHanna can you PM it to me too? Thanks!
  22. Hello everyone! It has been a while since my last post. My wife and I used to travel a lot mostly inside FL. We fell inlove with Naples so we are going to settle over there. Any thoughts in working with NCH for full time? Pay? Benefits? PTOs? Coworkers? They are offering me TCU job which is a new department for them that will just going to open this Aug. 2015. Thoughts will surely be appreciated. Thank you.
  23. Im with you on that one. Acute dialysis can be aggressive with baths, but not enough pulling of fluids though. Chronic have to be slow cooking type of treatment that needs to be good in the end.
  24. I have never seen a patient or order that is 0 K. That will make pts complain of severe cramping and worst case scenario, dysrrhythmias. Nephrologist nowadays never use potassium free bath. In our clinic the standard bath is 2K for patient who has stable potassium or within normal range. 1K bath for those who has >5.0 K+ 3K bath for thosw who has It doesnt mean if the pt has serum K+ of 3.0 and has a bath of 3K will not elevate the pt's serum K+, 3K bath is a very potent potassium and can increase pt's K+ immensely.
