  1. I PM'd you- I hope it makes sense!!
  2. I have a psych background also and have been job hopping for a long time, until now. My job hopping has never come up. I think you will be just fine!! Good luck to you!
  3. After reading these posts, I just wanted to say, as someone who attended this school and recently graduated the LPN program, be careful when going beyond this level at this school. I passed the NCLEX, so obviously I learned something from the school, but to spend that amount of money on a school that is NOT accredited yet(for the upper division)may not be very wise. At my new job, word is already out that the school is not accredited and people are very leary about students from this school. Yes, it has a short wait list, but waiting two years to get into a reputable school may be worth it.
  4. Thanks for everyones input! I study with Saunders and it has helped me alot so far! I just graduated so I need a little break before I dive back into the book. If I dont take a break, I'll be too burned out to absorb anything!
  5. I take the NCLEX soon and have taken the week off of work prior to study for the NCLEX. Is one week with intense studying enough?? I planned on studying 8 hours (or more if needed) each day until I take it. I'm just worried that won't be enough! Any thoughts???Thanks!
  6. I have heard that PPCC has a shorter wait time than anywhere in the Denver area. I was on the waitlist for the LPN program there and ended up going to DSON. I had left myself on the waitlist at PPCC and was notified this summer that I got into the PPCC LPN program- I was on the waitlist there for about a year. Hope that helps!
  7. I saw the interview and was expecting to hear about a movie that the actor was paid to make. His views on psychiatry do not interest me at all. Most people in the general public are smart enough to know that he is only an actor. He's entitled to his opinion but he sure made himself look like an ass. I'll have a hard time watching his movies without thinking in the back of my mind how narcisistic he really is.
  8. "patient"- "client" is too business oriented for me.
  9. I just graduated as an LPN(NCLEX not taken yet) and plan on specializing in woundcare after my RN. I think woundcare is fascinating because you can clearly see your results(or lack of) and there is alot of educating that goes on, both to staff and patient. I'm starting off in internal medicine though to get a good overview.
  10. Doesn't the website say you have to be an LPN licensed in Oklahoma? Maybe I misread it??
  11. As a student just finishing up my first year, I would say don't underestimate the students. Push them. Underestimating them is insulting to them and does nothing for their self-esteem. Its as if you are telling them that you don't think they are capable of more. Praise them and practice much patience!
  12. I am graduating in late June with my LPN and already have a job lines up with Kaiser. Can anyone tell me what the union dues are, or do they vary from state to state???
  13. every weekend, unfortunately.
  14. I agree- Colorado Springs is very conservative compared to the rest of the state. I lived in the Denver area for years, moved to Colorado Springs for a couple years because it has cheaper housing, then ended up moving back to Denver. It was way to conservative for me.
  15. Margaret Houlihan all the way!! She was awesome!
