  1. I too am working as a new grad on tele. It gets very busy with discharges and admissions. I think I get the most stressed with admissions. With time it gets better. I write down the meds at beginning of shift so I won't be looking them up every time, and take your full time of orientation.
  2. I agree, you should consider working night shift if you can, then transfer to L&D if thats where your interest is. I am a new grad on tele and 2nd guessed myself about working there at first. Glad i took the night shift, day shift seems so hectic, it seems like they're always trying to catch up. Night shift can still be busy but i feel like i still have time to learn and work on prioritizing.
  3. I had 3 by end of second week. Had to do a discharge and admission which was real stressful. I'm in my 4th week and still don't fully understand the entire process. It takes time, i get 12 weeks so hope il get it by then. What is cdu? and how long is your orientation? try talking to your preceptor about what you want to work on. Wether its getting a routine learned then focusing on discharges and admissions or vice versa.
  4. Thats great you received 6 months. I'm currently on orientation for 12 weeks, which is great too. I feel nervous and overwhelmed when going to work. Learning everything new and having such responsibility. Anybody have tips??
  5. Poor guy, those pants are so last year
  6. Yes, your on the naughty list, don't look so surprised.
  7. Since when has eating cookies, drinking hot coco and eggnog become a health concern???
  8. What do you mean I have to cut my sugar?
  9. Haven't you ever seen an elf before?
  10. You look like you've seen an elf
  11. I usually just write open, meaning im open to what they offer
  12. I get so fed up when i hear about nurses being nasty to newbies! It is so annoying, they were once newbies too and they should remember that. If they dont want to help then they should just stay quiet rather than being rude. I feel that nurses should all work as a team and help each other out in order to provide better and safer care to patients.
  13. Las Cruces, there are two hospitals that are hiring
  14. Wow you guys are really into this thanksgiving potluck
