    Sorry, repeat post.
  2. Can you really teach what you don't know?

While someone can teach things they don't know, or haven't done, how exactly are they able to answer the questions asked by students, or teach effectively? This is one of the biggest problems I see in health care education these days. And we wonder w...

  7. Thank you BlueDevil for your Liberal/ Socialist view. Unlike you, many Americans do NOT want YOUR Liberal/ Socialist version of America. Plenty of places that meet YOUR needs outside of America, so please, feel free to go. So Thanks, but NO thanks.
  8. What would you do?

As a Paramedic of 29 years, and 28 of those working in a city that regularly ranks in the top 5 (many times top 2) of the most dangerous cities in the US, I can tell you that if I was "off the clock" I would have called 911 and reported where it was ...

  12. Looking for analogies for Coronary Artery Disease...

I use the idea of traveling down a highway (for my area it would be I-95) and you come across road construction and the travel lanes get restricted from 2 or 3 lanes, to 1 lane. Thus the traffic backs up and slows the movement thru the area. And then...
  13. CCEMT-P?

Yes, we know TraumaSurfer, all Paramedics are worthless. Feel better now?
  14. Why can't nurses intubate?

Let there be NO mistake, taking and getting an ACLS &/or PALS card does NOT mean that you can intubate. Why anyone would think they can, is still beyond me. As an ACLS & PALS Instructor for well over 20 years, I will tell you that you are mis...
  15. CCEMT-P?

  16. What certifications do you have?

You can take ACLS as a nursing student, we have done several courses for nursing schools over the years (Medic students take it). PALS can also be taken by students (Medic students take it). I am not a Nurse, however I am a 28 year Paramedic and we t...
  17. Intraosseous Access - Have You Used It?

I also have placed many IO's, these days it is made much easier using the EZ-IO. I should state that I am a Paramedic, and not a Nurse. I know that at the Hospitals that I work for, only Physicans & Paramedics can place IO's, however that is lo...

I will say that it is a well made bag, HOWEVER it is heavier then most! If that's not a problem for you, go for it!
  22. Is my husband being unreasonable?

May I ask whose job provides the benefits for your family? If YOUR job provides the benefits, then you YOUR job should be the priority. However, if you do not provide the benefits for your family, why is your husband the "bad guy" here, as so many ...
  23. The "Differently Abled" Nurse Speaks

No offense intended, but lets say you get it changed to "differently abled", at what point does that "name" become the same as handicapped or disability, and then that "word" NOW becomes a "problem"? I'm sorry, but someone who has a disability or ha...

  25. To all the newbie ER nurses out there...

As a 28 year Paramedic I'll offer you the same advice I offer Paramedic students and new Paramedics, #1 - In an emergency, FIRST, check your own pulse. #2 - YOU did NOT create the emergency (at least most of the time, LOL!).
