  1. We use Pyxis and I can say that we do not count our nicotine patches during med pass, narc count, nor do we need to have a witness to “waste” (dispose of) the patch.
  2. You don't think your former-Psych nurse clinical instructor is capable of teaching you anything? Psych is EVERYWHERE. ER? Psych. L&D? Psych. Rehab? Psych. And you're going to have to know how to deal with patients who may have mental health issues right along with their other medical issues. And you will need to be able to do this before you ever sit in a Mental Health nursing class.

Perhaps it would be best for everyone if you stepped away from nursing and took some time to work out your issues.
  4. If completing the math of all the program nonsense = keeping your license, it should have been worth it. Where there is a will there is a way.
  5. I have three boys and vomit STILL bothers me. I'd rather clean up poo ANY day. >.
  6. We aren't even allowed to use our iPads, tablets, etc. Check your school's policy on tech in the classroom first. :)
  7. What about "muscle shirts" (NOT tanks)? As much chest coverage as an undershirt but no "double sleeves". :)
  8. I received Demerol when I delivered my boys. Who knew childbirth could be so much fun? ?
  9. I DID see her most recent post, however, I didn't mean anything to come across as negative towards HER...I meant the fact that she was close to the end of her program and she felt she was unprepared and was struggling, and the instructor didn't even bother to make sure they got all their clinical hours in, so even less hands-on time than students should receive. Definitely disconcerting for a student. I see how my original post could be misunderstood. As a student I can absolutely commiserate with her.
  10. And you sound quite unprepared to do any hands-on nursing. This is very disconcerting.
  11. If it didn't matter, they wouldn't specify.
  12. You have NO idea how lucky you are. A former classmate cheated and was kicked from the program for good. I hope you have truly done some self-exploration after this! I wouldn't want to work alongside anyone with questionable ethics and I sure as hell wouldn't want anyone of questionable ethics caring for a loved one.
  13. L&D, but I'm also becoming more interested in wound nursing.
  14. Yeah...I feel like you would be the one with the wound...when you wake up in a tub full of ice and discover Dr. A stole your liver. ?
