  1. wow I am gonna quit complaining about wages here in Colorado. I am an LPN, just got a new job, start pay $20.00, I turned down two jobs before that starting at $18.50 and they were all day positions
  2. I have been following this case for quite some time as everyone else has. IMO both sides have done wrong in many ways but mostly the parents for putting that poor girl on public dispay and the husband for not allowing the parents to be with her when she died. What reason could he have for that but spite! If my child were dying and I was denied access to him, well it would be ugly. No matter the feelings the family's have for each other the girl was dying, she needed her mother with her and her mother needed to be with her. I have no idea what Terri's wishes were, I doubt at age 25 they had ever been discussed, but I have no doubt she would have wanted her mother to be with her. I am 45 years old and when I am sick, I still want my mom. Peace be with you Terri
  3. Echo Heron.com tells about the author and all her books
  4. Hope somone can give me some tips. Two weeks ago i went on a job Interview. It was a job I really wanted. Last week they called to see if I was still interested, i said yes. They said they would let me know but I haven't heard from them. People are telling me I should call them but i just don't know what to say. I am not good at this sort of thing but I really want the job. Help!!
  5. Don't know where you work, wish I did, sounds like the same place I use to work. I could go all day and never see an RN.
  6. I agree that nurse mates are the worst. I was forced to wear them in Nursing School, I threw them in the trash the day I graduated. I love Klogs, they are so comfy.
  7. You guys are making me homesick with the talk of White castles. No White Castles in Colorado
  8. We can start and maintain (colorado)
  9. Glad to hear I am not the only one irritated by MA's calling themselves Nurses. In the office where I work they always called themselves the "Nurse" and proceeded to act the part such as giving advice and telling people on the phone if they really needed to be seen or not.I complained, they would get talked to and continue to do it. Finally last year in my state(CO) it became illegal, a misdemenor. to call yourself a Nurse unless you were an RN or LPN.
  10. Mom brings in child with a rash, child carrying a cage. I ask whats in the cage, SNAKES!! Yep thats right, SNAKES! I flip out but manage to ask why they brought snakes. Mom says child has been playing with the baby snakes and now has a rash. OK then, whats does she want me to do, run allergy tests on the snakes!
  11. I also had to wear a white dress and stocking to my graduation, it was the same sickening outfit I had to wear to clinicals everyday. The administrator of my school said , "The bigger girls look better in a dress." To say the least she was conservative. All through school we tried to get the dress code changed, we also tried to get it changed for graduation but it was all a no go. We also had graduation in a church. Even though I was not happy about any of it, I would not have missed my graduation for anything. I worked my butt of and I was proud of my accomplishments. My family supported me, struggled with me and scarificed for me, they deserved to see me graduate as much as I deserved it.
  12. join the crowd, seems to be going around. I drank hot tea with lemon and honey, really sooths the sore throat. Feel better soon!!
  13. My Hubby is a truck driver too. I see you are also a Wildcat Fan!! Me too, I am from KY currently living in Colorado.
  14. My biggest pet peeve is medical assistants calling themselves nurses. I was so happy when recently my state (CO) made it a misdemenor to say you are a nurse unless you are a LPN or RN. Made my day!!
