  1. Just because I didn't go into detail doesn't mean anything other than my mind is made up about it. Im potentially leaving a career forever so you best believe I have done my research. It doesn't change the fact that Im nervous about it.
  2. I will take the saline please
  3. Nervous about losing my job and potentially not being able to find another. I just don't trust the vaccine at this point.

  7. I graduated in Aug 05 from Vicksburg campus(LPN). It is actually the best campus, not so many different teachers and only about 35 students. No one to tell you it is too many of you like I was told about the Jackson campus (they try to weed you out). I just graduated from the LPN to RN bridge program Aug 1, 2008. Only one instructor in class(a good thing only one personality to get to know). Bye the way I think Jackson takes at least 50 students(LPN). I used grants and student loans for LPN school. I used WIA for RN schoool. Think about where you probably want to work and see what they offer for tuition assistance for LPN school, hospital is best. I went to a nursing home afterwards for 19.50/h 3-11 shift. The hospital would have helped me more for LPN to RN bridge. I still made it thank God, waiting to take boards.:imbar

  14. I live in Mississippi I drive about 50miles one way to class(I carpool). My classes are Tuesday and Thursday nights and every other weekend for clinicals. Sometimes we would do clinical time in class. My last clinicals was 2nd weekend in may. I did my preceptorship at an acute care hospital. Any specific questions?
  15. I graduate from LPN to RN Bridge Program August 1, 2008:D. I graduated LPN school August 2005. I feel the LPN program was more diffucult even with me being a CNA before I began. If you have been out of school a long time it may make some difference.
  16. I graduate 8/1/08. My instructor told me to expect at least 8weeks of orientation. The hospital I plan to work promised 12weeks and a MAX patient load of 7. I know alot of times they will tell you anything to get you on board. If you are not ready to the point of practicing safetly they should give you more time. I am an LPN, so if they try to take me off orientation after 8weeks I will deal with it, but after 4weeks and 2 more patients than promised NO WAY!! Good Luck
  17. crystalclear posted a topic in Emergency
Are hospitals reluctant to hire heavy nurses for the ER? Do you think it matter?
  18. The hospital I did my clinicals at inforced the no smoking policy. No smoking on hospital grounds, not in your car. If you smelled of smoke disciplinary action begin. Its not that serious!
  19. I haven't taken the NCLEX yet but I passed the HESI today on the first try with no studying. I will not let my guard down about the NCLEX. Graduation date August 1, 2008. I can't wait!!!!
  20. CONGRADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I graduate from the LPN to RN bridge program on August 1, 2008. If I take 200 questions, I will EXPLODE.
  21. I was told it took at least 48 hours for results. good luck!
  22. I live in Yazoo and it was a very hard year for me. I have one son and he was 2.5 when I started. You have to have a strong support system because it is a very demanding program. It felt like it wasn't enough hours in a day and that my son was being neglected by me. I was determined to finish. I had to leave him many mornings crying, or sick with my sister or grandmother. I felt that it was in his best interest. Applying at Ridgeland is a good idea. You want to keep all your options open, b/c once you finish it's money in the bank and it's flexible.
  23. I applied for RN and found out I had to take my sciences over so I applied for the LPN program in Nov. 03. Received a phone call in March 04. I was not at home my sister took the call. She said a lady from Hinds called to see if I was still interested in the program.(She told the lady that I was). I called NAHC but I was told that no one from there called me. I thought my sister was joking but she was persistant that I got a call. I was told by A nurse at my job to call Vicksburg campus and sure enough, I was told that the lady that called would be out until Monday. I received my acceptance letter in April 04. So Fill out another application and put Vicksburg campus for you location(If you are willing to drive). That way you can attend either campus b/c allied didn't see to have any idea about vicksburg calling me???? Actually the person I talked to at Allied told me I was on a long waitng list. Check it out.
