i ended with 86 questions, 7 SATA, no calculations, 1 exhibit. I passed.

I used Saunders, when i was studying for NCLEX and and also NCLEX 3500.

You should receive eligibility letter first from your BON, stating that you are eligible to take NCLEX.

In some cases, maybe not a sign at all, when i took my NCLEX end of Dec. I only had 7 SATA, i finished with 86 questions and i was so lucky because that was the first and last time for me.

I had been reading a lot of forums and comments from Filipino nurses about these problems since last year. I am also a nurse from the Philippines and i was lucky to get everything done before these issues arise. Can you guys apply in different state? Just wondering if anyone tried and went through without a problem....

I signed up for Kaplan also when i was studying for NCLEX. I am a foreign grad. I think, i paid $400 for 3 months, and took my NCLEX last Dec. 22. I had 86 questions, and just like you i had a lot of meds that I've never seen or heard before, exhibit, SATA and a lot of delegation and prioritization questions. I scored 64% on my readiness test. In most of the questions that i got, decision tree was not applicable, like they said, in some questions you can't use them. Then using ABC strategy, you have to know what is the problem of your patient first (signs and symptoms) then decide if it is expected or unexpected. I used Saunders (borrowed from the library), Kaplan book and the 3500 NCLEX review. I studied every rationale in every question i encountered, i printed lab value and taped them on the wall (easy to see and remember) and prayers....

@Akino21, yes i took the PNLE, i sent them the copy of my license. But from what i have been reading from all the comments, license in the Philippines have nothing to do with the current problems. The problems are the clinical rotations and hours???? so i am guessing it is something new. Good luck!!

Saunders and Kaplan are good review books for NCLEX...

I graduated from the Philippines also, last 2009, i took NCLEX last week of Dec. I did Kaplan review and i would say, they are good. They are very good in prioritization and delegation. Study the rationale in every question, that will help you a lot. Good luck!

I used Kaplan also, i took NCLEX 3 weeks ago. Kaplan is the best, especially their Qbanks, review every rationale if you can, that will help a lot. Kaplan is also the best when it comes to prioritization and delegation.

Hi guys, i was reading your comments. I am also an RN from the Philippines, i am here in the US now. I applied for NCLEX-RN around March last year, same with you guys i applied in California, from what i have been reading from your comments a lot of things changed already. When i applied, i have submitted only the documents that i saw was listed online, and then they just asked me to send them a copy of my greencard. I would say i waited 1 1/2 months before they sent me my eligibility. I took NCLEX last Dec and i was lucky i passed. Goodluck guys!!!

You did good, in fact you did great! I took Kaplan diagnostic exam 3 months ago and i only got 54% (i am a foreign graduate) . I just took Nclex 8 days ago, and i got my license in the mail today. Choosing Kaplan is a good move. Kaplan helped me a lot, i studid their qbanks 50 questions a day, with rationales. Kaplan is good in teaching how to prioritize and delegate. I only used Saunders, Kaplan book and the 3500 nclex review when i was studying for Nclex. Good luck!
