Oh Zazak, so happy for you! I prayed for you! That Pearson Vue trick definitely worked, but I still had a hard time believing it until I saw my RN license on the BON. God is so amazingly good!! I couldn't have gotten through this journey without Him. Congratulations!!

NCLEX was a monster! Does the Pearson Vue Trick work on Saturdays?
I'm so thankful to read your post! I just took NCLEX today and had to take the entire exam and was so certain that I failed. I cried all the way home and waited 3 hours before I had the nerve to check the Pearson Vue trick. I tried it and got the good pop up and did it again an hour later and got it again but.........here I am searching the forum just to make sure that it works! Thank you for posting. I might actually sleep tonight!!

how hard is Sociology and analyzing lit CLEP?
My favorite course! I studied for maybe an hour going over literary terms, but honestly I didn't even need to do that. It's basically what you said, reading comp. I like to read if it's entertaining but hadn't read poetry in years. Just so you know that I'm not a literary genius.:) The only thing you have to be careful about is the time limit. Just use the same principles that we use with nursing exams, go to the next passage if you aren't sure what it means and then go back to it at the end. It's the perfect course to do while you're waiting for your CPNE. I only wish I would have been so smart!

CPNE 30 March- 01 April...nervous now!
Tasha, we're all rooting for you and praying for you too! Got your flask all ready to go?! JK!! I don't know if you will even see this before you start tomorrow or not, but here is one of my favorite verses. Don't be afraid, because I am with you. Don't be intimidated; I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will support you with my victorious right hand.(I love the thought of Him walking in with you holding you by the hand!) Isaiah 41:10 (God's Word Translation)

Excelsior and ALEKS
That was the info the advisor gave me. It wouldn't hurt to ask again though. You might get a different answer. It's a new requirement and so there was some confusion when I called about what was accepted and what wasn't. So it really might be worth your while to check into it. I originally thought that I would do a CLEP exam but after looking at the content guide, I decided that it covered way too many topics. I read about ALEKS on a forum and that wound up being a little less stressful for me. You should think about saving a course or two to do while you're doing the new FCCA exam that takes 8 weeks to complete or while you wait for the CPNE. I really wish now that I had done that. You can start taking nursing exams once you have completed all but 10 credits of your general ed requirements. Maybe save English or Math or both to do while you're waiting. I don't know if this was the best option for English, but I did the UEXCEL college writing through Excelsior. I am not a writer and wound up making a C with minimal preparation. Not stellar by any means:) but a pass in my book!! There's a ton of information on this site & yahoo nursing groups too. Good luck!

Excelsior and ALEKS
Hey Barbara, that's awesome!! It takes an amazing amount of time trying to figure out the system so I'm happy that I could help you out. Will Excelsior accept Basic Math for the math requirement? I don't normally say curse words, but I might just cuss if that is the case!! Intermediate Algebra was hard for me too. I eventually had to pay a tutor to help me. Even with a tutor I made a 76 so you did really well. Once Excelsior receives your credit, don't forget to cancel your account with ALEKS. Good luck!

moved my exam to tomorrow!!
I will so pray for you! Sounds like you are already FCCA eligible with those practice exam scores! So happy that you're getting in under the wire!

Excelsior and ALEKS
I don't think you have to be enrolled in Excelsior to take an Aleks course. Once you apply you would just have the transcript sent, like you would from other colleges you've attended or your nursing school transcript. It's a little more complicated, but once you finish just go to the ACE website and it tells you in detail what to do. I had to call the Aleks help number because their website was a little hard to navigate, but they were very helpful!

excelsior: math requirement Please help!
Okay friends, I'm a goober at Math too. Get someone to help you. I have a son that is a math wiz, but he's in college and so trying to do math over the phone wasn't very helpful. This is hilarious, but I actually "texted" him a problem and he was like, "Mom, I would love to help you, but I can't teach you math by texting!" Really? So I called our local junior college and paid $25 for a math tutor. She was a college graduate with a Math degree but couldn't get a job, so she tutors. Hope that helps!

Finally got CPNE date!!
Thank you so much!! I sent my advisor an email and asked her the same question and she didn't give me any of this information!! I do check "my details" often but it's usually to make sure that they've given me credit for a class that I've completed. Thank you again!

Finally got CPNE date!!
That's encouraging! Thanks for the info. I read somewhere that you have to have a physical before you can apply for the CPNE. Is that right and are there any other requirements that I should know about so I'm not set back time-wise?

Microbiology Practice Exam...
Hi Barbara, I took Intermediate Algebra. I don't know about that particular course, but I would definitely ask an advisor to see if they'll accept it. Here's a thread that talks about ALEKS and has their website and information about having the course transferred. Sorry I couldn't be more help! https://allnurses.com/excelsior-college-online/excelsior-and-aleks-672273.html

Transition tomorrow
Wow! That's awesome! Congratulations! How long did you study for this one? Did you use flashcards? I honestly couldn't wait to be "bored" with this course after taking Anatomy & Physiology but.....I so get it after studying a few days. I was in the library doing everything but studying. Checking email, watching cute little kids, texting....I just couldn't make myself study!!
