  1. Great information! Thanks for sharing!!
  2. Order the ANCC book off their website and a lot of it is covered in the first 50 pages
  3. Wow thanks for the information1 I have been hearing a lot about nurse infomatics recently!!!
  4. The APEA question review is great. It has rationale for each question and lots of good information and tricky questions!
  5. I have heard both are equal but that the ANCC is harder due to the theory content. Most of us remeber clinical because that is what we used in our clinical practice.
  6. The AANP has been around for a long time and it is a sister to the ANA. That should count for something but I have heard a lot of students suggest the ANCC is better??
  7. I know if you join the AANP they have free CEUs on their site.... but you do have to pay for membership. Also I think you can do an online class through Fitzgerald in pharm and you get several hours of CEUs
  8. I have not heard that dual certification matters. The hospital I work at does preferr AANP certification though.
  9. Sorry to hear you failed! I have failed the exam also. I will be taking the AANP next week. I hope it is all clinical. The questions on ANCC about billing and medicare and research really confused me. I felt the clinical questions were very straight forward. Good luck!
  10. I am taking the AANP exam next week any suggestions? Is there any thoery or professional issues, definitions? Or is it all clinical?thanks
  11. I have taken the ANCC twice. I am not a good test taker and I have major anxiety! I always think too much and twist the answers. If you take the ANCC be sure you know theory. Know those definitions like beneficence, nonmalefience know them forward and backwards. Both times I had tons of question with these definitions. If you have to take ANCC I recommend buying their review manual from their website. It was $100 but it has 50 questions in the back that are very helpful and each chapter ends with case studies and the answers are all in the book....with full explaination. I also bought the APEA practice question book and it is great each questions had rationale. Their website has a question bank you can purchase for like $150 and you have unlimited access for one month... You can split the with 2 other people and still have a tough time getting to all the questions. I will be taking the AANP this week in hopes that the test is all clinical bc that is my strong point. If you know anything about that exam please let me know. thanks... and take the Barkley or APEA review....skip fitzgerald! but just my opinion and what I have heard from others...Also several girls in my class took both and they passed. Good Luck!!
  12. ErnestineB2009- I have a question for you. I failed the ANCC bc of the theory and the multitude of definitions in regards to practice... e.g. benifience, ghost writer etc. I scored high on the clinical assessment and policy. I am scheduled to take the AANP next week. I have heard the exam is ALL clinical. Can you tell me if that is true? Will there be definitions re: theory and professional role? I tried to send you a private message but I was unable to do so. If I figure it out I will. I appreciate your help!! And Congrats on passing your exam...I am JEALOUS!!! :)
